Supposedly end of May or early June. No info on what's going to be on it.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the AE slide some more. From this week's Update, SD said they are doing a company wide budget exercise and will be determining pilot block hour requirements going forward. Also, the training department will probably lose some more money, so they will want to avoid anything major - that's one of the reasons that the ATL 767 to 7ER conversion hasn't happened as promised.

How does training lose money, just part of doing business...does anyone proof read those updates?

I don't think we know half the stuff that goes on. Delta pilot's wife was in Miami looking for hotel to have Corp meeting. One of the hotels she talked to used ALPA as a reference in that they chosen them for their meetings. After learning this, asked her to call back and see if she could find out what the cost were to ALPA. Hotel response back to her was, "WE can not discuss our rate with ALPA in that we are in litigation for damages to the conference rooms caused by ALPA". Could not find out any more details. Makes one wonder if there is something to this and what really happened. ONE UNHAPPY DUES PAYING MEMBER. I will be asking my reps about this?

Party like a rockstar dude!

Reminds me of the Paris crew room with some unbelievably out of hand stuff. I was never present for any of it, but to me it is surprising that normally responsible adults can be abnormally irresponsible.

I'm raising the BS flag. Another unsubstantiated fourth hand (hotel clerk --> pilot's wife --> pilot --> JABDIP) rumor. Why don't you just call the Delta MEC Treasurer and get the real story, instead of another typical ALPA bashing on an anonymous forum??

Training isn't losing money for the company, rather what I was trying to say is they were having their budget cut. Less money for conversions, simulators etc. Moving large (senior) equipment would entail significant training events.

We're still trying to finish the May 10 AE. Many of us sat for a while before class, and then again after Sims. The SLI guys were all telling tales of budget cutbacks affecting training and the reason for the delay in the ATL 767 conversion.

. Yes, there are a few here and there that drink their fair share, but most do not. Most realize that they have to be up the next morning back at the mind numbing task of sitting though another 10+ hrs of a MEC meeting, or a middle seat across country after the meeting is over.

If we are going to publish this data it needs to be meaningful. To me this just looks like a lot of numbers.

I didn't go to many meetings but was at one or two as a coat tail rider. In the hospitality suite, there was all top shelf booze, premium beer and a lot of appetizers. The breakfasts were all buffet. I found that the association paid per diem (it was like 70/day back then) whether you spent it or not. I can see where someone could easily rack up $200/day with the free booze, appetizers, breakfast and then the per diem on top of that.

Honestly, it didn't sit well with me as a dues paying member. I felt that while the LEC guys were volunteers, they certainly were well compensated for their time. When I think of a volunteer, I think of someone who works for nothing. (like I was). The LEC/MEC guys may be volunteers but they certainly are not working for free.

I think if the general membership knew about all the perks, they wouldn't be too keen on it..... especially in the light of what has transpired over the past 10 years with our pay and benefits. I know that I wasn't and I was working for free (like the majority of ALPA volunteers).

Someone once emailed me that they met someone who overheard a conversation where one of the people knew someone who thought they saw three out of the four of them in the same fog-filled, dark room (an indoor stadium really). But, not sailing and slow together. No one has ever claimed that.
