Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

Interesting that the number is 6. Delta failed to secure 6 of the 12 e170's that compass was supposed to get. Only 6 are being put into service now.
*Side note: The flow through rumors and getting stronger on this side. Rumors of letters going out in a couple weeks. If you work the numbers backwards it makes sense.
Delta must give compass 45 days notice. Plus 90 days worth of hold backs would put new hires in class in mid October for 2012 flying. Just like last year.

Unlike SWA, ours is a totally one-sided relationship where only our union's weakness is appreciated.
I would carry management's water too if our relationship was really based on mutual respect and appreciation for what the other is worth to the success of the airline. That is NOT the case at Delta.
But none of those SWA guys get the privilege of hawking credit cards for management like I get to do. I'll bet they're SO jealous of what we have here!

I'm that someone and, yes, they did. The CP briefed it during the LEC meeting. 6 -9s originally scheduled to be removed from service due to impending heavy checks will now receive those checks and remain in service. Marketing needs them. The drawdown is now scheduled to commence in 2012. The next AE will not reflect any -9 reductions.

They got it through a positive approach with management where both treat the other with respect. Our management only treats DALPA people with respect IF those DALPA people see things through their eyes. Then those DALPA folks are described by management as: "visionary union leaders, and modern thinking union leaders."

Spot on analysis. And BTW, I'm all for proactive engagement the way it is at SWA. This is the way things are supposed to work in a healthy business. Unfortunately, like you said, this is NOT the situation we have today at Delta. We are being taken extreme advantage of... and DALPA isn't lifting a finger to even point it out, much less trying to correct it.

That is a very succinct summation.
Steve Dickson (and others) frequently say nice things about the pilot group, which at first blush makes us feel good...
However, we need only look at Jim Graham's preamble to the new "call-in-honest" policy to see how we are really valued.
Mutual respect and (genuine) appreciation are sorely lacking from management!
