Ok, time to go back to a smart phone discussion. I finally broke down and just got my first one. It's a Samsung Galaxy. First question is: How do I turn off the data roaming when I fly internationally? From previous discussions I understand that this can be very expensive. Second question. It has a WiFi calling app that charges minutes against my monthly minutes (which is fine because I never come close to the primetime limit). If I use this internationally is there a higher minute charge? I wouldn't think so because you are using the internet but.........who knows! If I can just use my existing minutes I can save 2 cents a minute instead of using skype!!

Many more questions to follow in the future because I'm "smart phone challenged!"

Thanks,

Denny

Heyas,

Recently got the ALPA phone survey.

Fully 1/2 of the questions were regarding the DPA.

At least two of the questions, overall, were leading and were based on facts not in evidence, and thus were invalid. If you are sharp, and can figure out which questions fit that description, you can decline to answer. Be sure to tell the poll taker that you feel those questions are invalid.

I usually turn on wifi and then put the phone in airplane mode to avoid voice and data roaming.

Hopefully your sales person downloaded and installed advanced task killer free for you. That will help your battery life.

What carrier did u go with? Not Sure what wifi calling app u are using.

Question 42: I believe that a monarchy with a parliament chosen by the king and approved one way or another by the lowly commoners is the best form of government, true or yes?

From the looks of it I'd bet hardwood floors or maybe a hall runner at the most. :-)

Drawing a brainfart right now but I was perusing the Trip Coverage and came across a 3 day trip assigned to a reserve that had this in the notes section of the trip:

"WL ND FO DUE SICK/CVRG NYC 8041/28..RESERVE ONLY..NO
WHIS..NO GRES..CG"

My question is, if you have a WS or GS in and the trip meets your criteria, why are they able to deny that right off the bat and give it to a reserve? GS I understand, but not the WS part. Perhaps I'm suffering from sleep deprivation but I wasn't aware that they could do that.

Thanks Nosmo. I was kinda thinking about doing the same thing. After some searching I think I found that I actually need to disable 2 items. One says "use packet data" and the other says "data roaming."

No they didn't download advanced task killer. What is it?

I've had a family plan with T-Mobile for 8 years now and have, on the whole, been very happy with them so I stayed. Not sure what the merger will mean but I figure the actual merger will take a year if I don't like AT&T after that then I only have a year left.

The wifi calling is an app that came preloaded on the phone. I'm figuring it doesn't work to well 'cause it's having problems connecting to a wifi network. Skype works fine.

I have seen that a bunch. As far as I know, they can't Reality is that they have the coverage, and should assign it in order.
