Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

It is just temporary, we will be hiring again in 2010, everybody will get a huge payraise and with all the new hires we can sit home most of the summer. Life is good with DAL....

Cuba just opened, when is Delta going there?
President Barack Obama is allowing Americans to make unlimited trips and money transfers to family in Cuba and easing other restrictions Monday to usher in a new era of openness toward the island nation ruled by communists for 50 years.
The White House made the formal announcement during presidential spokesman Robert Gibbs' daily briefing with reporters — in both English and Spanish.
"The president would like to see greater freedom for the Cuban people. There are actions that he can and has taken today to open up the flow of information to provide some important steps to help that," Gibbs said.

I know I keep hearing this as well. But just last week I spoke with some of the higher ups in management and the -400 and -200 programs. What I posted is what came straight from them. It seems that the timeframes we have been hearing are not necessarily cast in stone. Another rumor that has been flying around is that if you are displaced you can't bid the -200 because they are going to be gone. At least for right now the -200 can still be bid, and they have no timeline to pull the aircraft from our APA staffing.

Just to back up what 320 said...I have heard the same thing.
Frieght is hauling the goods, and EVERYTHING is back into flux. The guys I've talked to say they've quit trying to make any sort of long term plans, because it changes completely before lunch.

Quick question S-DAL guys/gals,
You have a 8 hour bottle to throttle rule as pilots. What do your FA's have?
Our FA's have the 12 hour restriction along with us and I wonder if that is partly the reason why we (N-DAL) haven't gone to the 8 hour rule yet.
Yes, now you can see what my real priorities are.
You can talk about Compass and the staple proposal all day long and I'm quiet, but let me realize that there is a full four hours more that a S-DAL guy can have a beer than a N-DAL guy, and I'm up in arms!!

Delta rule for pilots is 8 hours prior to reporting for duty and you can't report for duty with any alcohol in your system regardless of when your last drink was. It mirrors the FAA rules. Its very possible to stop drinking 8 hours before report and still flunk a alcohol test.

So my question is if a Delta pilot tests below .04 or even .02 is he in violation of company policy?
