The is a such thing as negotiating and contracting in good faith. If any party to a contract purposely acts in a way that is counter to the understanding of the agreement, I would argue that that party is in breach. Period.
but....but... we might not win!

Maybe someone could 'update' it for us?
LM and TO have both openly stated that pattern bargaining is over, and that we must get gains on our own. Still waiting for common strategy 2....

Haven't you been paying attention? These are THE BEST labor lawyers EVER to walk the halls of a courtroom. We are soooooo fortunate to have them and should be on our knees daily with praises to the almighty legal team that serves us
at $500/hour.

Effective immediately:

T-Mobile USA is enabling phone calls to Japan for postpaid customers without charges for international long distance through March 31, 2011, and retroactive to March 11, 2011.
T-Mobile postpaid customers can make Wi-Fi calls to and from Japan free of charge through March 31, 2011, and retroactive to March 11, 2011.
Text (SMS) messaging is also free of charge to and from Japan for T-Mobile postpaid customers through March 31, 2011 and retroactive to March 11, 2011.

This follows similar announcements from Verizon and ATT.

Let your fellow crewmembers know so they can pass it on to their families while they are on Japan trips.

Yes, they do, but they do not fly jets larger than 76 seats for us on that certificate. Same stuff there 80. Now if the Republic Certificate was doing our flying, we would have a case since they are flying 190's for the MEC/F9 branded flying. Same thing with the F9 certificate.

Nice to jump in with a quip or two, but this is the reality.

To T, it is not a love fest of any level. It is reality, ya know where we all really live.

80, TO never said patterning was dead. RA stated it after we were patterned down in CH11. Of course the company wants it dead.

We (DALPA) will use any method to extract the most for our pilots.

Instead of being keyboard warriors, volunteer your time, go take your rep out for coffee or a dinner and ask them all of these questions. T, you got a real ball banger in NYC, go see what he says. Most likely he will agree with you, like me that the RJET thing sucks, but he will also tell you what reality is. Fight the correct fight, which is to change the wording in the contract, not to fight a structure with the current wording.

BTW, 80 you just complained about a person in the organization, not the structure.

Lets play:

Tell the world how to Fix ALPA. Start with the perceived conflict at national with the RJ drivers. A second tier for big boys and little boys, then the leadership structure? Who holds the most votes now? I will give you a guess, it ain't the little boys by a long shot.

That's not what I see:

We were all reminded how important it is to coordinate across pilot group lines to set favorable contract patterns.
UAL/CAL will set the bar in this round.
Smizek looks like he's playing hardball.
The CAL guys have already shown they're ready to fight.

Cheers

It's been under a year since LM has stated that pattern bargaining "is dead" publicly. All those in the choir sang amen.

Having the structure in place isn't enough. It has to be used effectively to be of any value. You aren't going to get the kind of unity you're looking for with weak leadership and a lack of any real, compelling objective. DAL management went for the throat and tried to destroy our careers during BK. And now that the BK/emergency has been over for several years, they refuse to even lift a finger to try and make it right. Even worse, DALPA refuses to so much as ASK them to make it right. Unity will fall into place nicely when it is clear that we can rally around the objective of correcting this. But it ain't gonna happen with Lee Moak type leaders and with people like yourself, who rationalize every excuse they can find not to fight for it.
