Thought I'd post some to the contrary... I've done a 4 day trip and so far every leg has departed on time or early, and arrived at least 5 minutes early.
Granted we haven't seen ATL since we left on Saturday and DTW isn't involved either (which has been the largest source of my delays as of late- the DTW mechs seem to be having a bit of a learning curve with the 737...).

The real question is: What do we, as Delta pilots, do if DALPA allows Delta to use this lift...
Let me put it this way: If DALPA allows Delta to continue using this lift after RAH is declared a single carrier (which they clearly always have been and the ALPA lawyers have told DALPA they arent) What purpose does DALPA serve?
Is DPA a better option?
These are what ifs, they havent happened, but if they do, DALPA does not have the Delta pilots' back.

Same thing happens going from the downtown NYC hotel to JFK. Its a delay just waiting to happen. What I find most alarming, for us 73 guys on the left coast, is how we have 40 minute turns in SFO from jets coming in from MSP. They're always late, then so are we. Apparently, D-0 ain't so important if the marketing guys are building in impossible turns from across the country.

You are mistaken. This is the continuation of a long trend. The legacy carriers have continued to retreat rather than compete in the domestic market. (I was looking for stats but my wife cleaned up my Air Transport World magazine and darned if I'm going outside to dig it out of the garbage).
Legacy carriers are already at the stage where domestic operations primarily exist to feed international operations. Point to point has largely been ceded to Southwest, JetBlue and the others who care to pursue it. One of the few that is fighting back is American with their 737 fleet.
What keeps me up at night is what happens when Emirates and their kind finish their 700 airplane explosive expansion? Where do we run then?
If anything, smart management keeps the wine and roses on the table as long as they can (as did our management).

As far as Emirates, let's hope LM works some magic.

45 min turns from florida to dtw are near impossible. dca-dtw, fine, but snow birds = massive delays.
I agree with the previous caller, the delays due to short turns is a marketing problem and I know that was being addressed.

I thought the company just released a memo about turn times? I thought it said they were going to increase in areas and they're going to minimize as best they can the shuffling of crews during turns in our hubs.
