Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

Stupid Question:
Someone was murdered behind our training hotel last night in Atlanta. I haven't spoken to the police to find out what they believe happened. However, they have the entire parking lot blocked off, 5 numbered markers scattered through the parking lot (shell casings), and pickup truck marked off. Would DAL corporate security care to know this? Or is this ops normal for Atlanta?
I am surprised it didn't wake me up because the noise from Bobby Brown highway keeps me up at night and the highway is farther away, the parking lot is immediately behind the hotel.

i sure as hell think you need to tell every soul you meet at the training center about it, not just corporate security.

Interesting. I didn't know about this shooting outside the other training hotel. But the black F250 with a trailer, is right outside my hotel (the Doubletree).
Ironic how this went down besides both training hotels.

Dunno too much about the PBI-ATL or LGA commute, but FLL or MIA to ATL is very doable.
14 flights a day out of FLL to ATL just on company metal, plus another 14 on Tranny and another handful on Spirit the last time I checked.

Yes, you are correct. If you get a GS and it cancels, then you get single pay for it not 2X pay. You have to fly it to get the 2X pay. That's also the way they will pay it if you are awarded a GS then call in sick for it.

I just had a green slip with canceled legs and did not get paid for it. Maybe it's different for reserves.

The 90 is a MUCH better ride in the back than the 88. The back rows still have the engines, but they are much quieter than the PW engines on the 88. The 90 also has carbon brakes so you get no brake squeal or chatter on the 90. The 16 original 90's have video systems on them so you get to watch a movie which is nice for longer legs. The biggest issue is the overhead bin space

Heyas,
The pilot groups really were sold a "bill of goods" with PBS.
"More flexibility", they said, "better QoL for the junior pilots", "more bid satisfaction"....all the key buzzwords. This is what was used to "buy off" the pilot group. Stuff that came with PBS ANYWAY.
Truth be told, management reaped a HUGE gain on PBS. Some accounting I've seen is well over %15 staffing efficiency. No dropped trips for mil leave, vacation, traning, known leaves...that is HUGE. Well over 1800 pilots for a group our size.
With that kind of efficiency gain, the payo out to the pilot group should have been much higher.
