Impressed and proud.

Wow, that thing blasts off, orbits the earth at mach 20, comes screaming back in and lands in what looks like 5000ish feet according to that distance remaining sign. My hats off to the shuttle.

Do you hear that knock on your door? Its the adjustment bureau.

Some things are not supposed to be noticed.

LAX trips have always sucked, but now we are taking it to a whole new level. When the E-mail said bases do not specifically own any of the flying, I was tempted to write back - "Yes they do, LAX has first dibs on all ****ty flying!"

Scoop

PS. on the Take/Bring issue - You "Take" something to someone else or somewhere. You have someone "Bring" something to you. There are other nuances, but hey I went to public schools in NJ - that is all I can remember

It is incorrect to say "Bring this SCOPE capitulation agreement this to the MEC Chairman." You would say "Take this SCOPE.....MEC Chairman.

It is correct to say "Bring me the SCOPE demands letter I just dictated."

For what it's worth, the RJDC guy quit Comair last week. He put up a letter in the crewroom that said, and I'm paraphrasing:

"I see no future for Comair. The end is very near. I could be wrong, but I doubt it. Good luck, I'm outa here!"

Boomer,

I appreciate the conciliatory sentiment, but it took more than one person IMO to press forward with the RJDC and I also believe there were an awful lot of quiet supporters...IOW, it wasn't a one man show.

BTW, I also have a sense that he is probably correct about Comairs future. Good luck to you.

Something about those curves...

OK, now I remember where I've seen that before:

I know, but he's the guy that everyone knows by name.

I'm guessing the whole RJDC thing must have reached a head before I got here, because I can honestly only count a half dozen times where a captain has mentioned the RJDC to me. I still don't know what the goal was.

They touched down 2,100 feet down the runway at 195 knots, no they did not stop in 5,000 feet. They are towing it back to the OPF. They usually use up about 10,000 feet.
