JK FTB. I'm just a jealous, abused reserve 320 FO.
There are so many things to click through to finally get to icrew, so annoying.

No seriously, I'm like proud when I can get it to 0. But right now I can't. Believe it or not as a domestic puke pilot my landing currency is coming up. ON THE 88! Well, not before April so I'll get it in but it's all up to date.

As to EFOBs, I always get distracted by stuff, like the paper cutter. Will that actually cut paper this time? Let's go see.

Okay, are there any drunk astronauts who became/were pro athletes who also dated a supermodel, wrote a best seller and cut themselves shaving?

Buzz Aldrin comes close.

I don't buy the odds of being on a plane with a drunk pilot... unless that includes non-revs

IMO... if that limit will be reached in 5 years.. that is not rapid.

Do you mean 5 years from CBAID? My understanding is we are within 10-15 airframes of hitting 255 now. 27 airframes have awarded in the last 2 months. Seems a little quicker then 5 years. I may have your reference point incorrect though.

Regardless, IMO the cap will be hit before Sec 6 & possibly before the summer. And my favorite part of the contract.....once the # of 76 seaters has been established, it will not be reduced. Bye-bye DC9's, hello large RJs.

Not going to argue that. Just stating that the issues they face are what we faced, and other private sector groups faced. IMO, we are at a crossroads, where we as a nation choose what much of Europe has, or we chose to have a little less now, for less taxation and more freedom to do what we want with our money in the future. It is our choice to make, and the mileage will vary from individual.

I have told my family members with great retirements in government service. I use the termination of the DB here. They all say it will never happen. I make the point by using our words. They start to get it, but the reality will be painful.

5 years was just a thin air number. I was just trying to establish what you meant by "rapidly". Nothing nefarious.

Wrt your second paragraph, DALPA has been notorious for writing contracts like that. I am looking for the limit on international code share and what determines it. It used to say that as long as our floor hours remained above X, the company could add as much as they liked (basically). If that floor was passed.. if we went below that number, there was no provision to reduce the codeshare. I found that horrifying. I was told by the ASSociation not to worry.. we never go below that number.... Seems to me that a snapshot percentage with a weighting favorable to us would be preferable, but then again, I don't have a seat at the table.

Its official. Finally.

On Deltanet:

DELTA EXPANDS MD-90 FLEET
Delta has reached an agreement with Japan Airlines to purchase nine MD-90 aircraft as it continues to expand its fleet of the cost-efficient narrowbody jets.

JAL will begin delivery of the MD-90s in January of next year, and they will be refurbished and upgraded to match Delta’s domestic fleet. The purchase will not add capacity; rather, the aircraft will be used to replace retiring DC-9s and 50-seat regional jets leaving the fleet.

Delta now has 58 MD-90s under contract, with 19 flying, 15 in modification, and 24 to be delivered. With a range of 2,400 miles, the 160-seat aircraft can be used for a variety of domestic flying.

“The MD-90 is a cost-effective aircraft that helps us more efficiently maintain our flying levels as we retire regional jets and DC-9s,” said Nat Pieper, v.p.-Fleet Strategy and Transactions. “We’ll continue to look for opportunities to acquire used MD-90s in the future.”

Since 2007, Delta has retired more than 250 smaller gauge domestic aircraft including 50-seat regional jets, Saab 340 turboprops, and all of its DC-9 30s and 40s. A portion of that capacity has been backfilled with the addition of 100 newer model MD-90s and two-class regional jets.

I don't know, but I'm still amazed that Gabrielle Giffords (AZ representative that was shot in January) husband is not only an astronaut but was up as the next shuttle commander and his brother is up on the space station.

I wonder what the odds are having your sons becoming high school QBs, then college QBs then drafted in the NFL and then having one be the Super Bowl MVP followed by the other doing the same the next year?

Or this, what were my odds of getting a 100% on the instrument written when I was only 17? Pretty darn good! BUT THEN, what were the chances of getting a letter in the mail 3 months later saying there had been a mistake and I really only made an 84. Even better!
