I have knowledge of a secret Air Force project which cost taxpayers over a million dollars. The result of this project was the determination that Montgomery Inn just North of Cincinnati has the best Ribs.
Having spent a little time with a Colonel who flew some of the secret missions and having shared some of the (burp) materials, this conclusions of this research are valid.
The study caused a few people to gain a lot of weight.

Maybe the DTW reps could do a month-by-month breakdown of their own flight pay loss usage, and see if the pilots in the other bases want the same from their reps, too. Do you think leadership by example would work in this situation?
He taught me how to really fly in IMC, go missed and divert correctly.

Interesting. What exactly has been preventing them from publishing their own flight pay loss data? The MEC has never had a say in that. In fact, it used to be published annually in MSP by the reps there. Why haven't the DTW reps ever done that?

I have never known a MEC rep who did not work 10 times harder then any line pilot. I can't even remember how many divorces happened because of MEC reps crazy days away from home and over all schedules not to mention cell phone ringing at least 5 times an hour.. I am amazed anyone even wants the jobs. I would certainly never consider it. Returning the the line is like going on a permanent vacation for many ex reps.
Dunno about divorce rates, but the reps I've talked to are VERY tired by the end of their terms. I don't want their job, a little bit of volunteering here and there and staying informed is enough for me.

Holy moly-I haven't heard that name in over 25 years. I used to live 1/4 mile from the Montgomery Inn, in....Montgomery and my brother was a dishwasher there. I guess it still exists since we moved in the early 80s. Is the place now considered famous?

I am going to raise the BS flag on this. Unfortunately there are many line pilots today that do far more then fly there 13-16 days on the line. A lot of us, especially jr. types have other jobs. Get furloughed for a few years have kids ready to go to college and you will know why.
Now do not get me wrong I think there should be FPL for Reps however I also think I have a right to see where that money goes.
If there is nothing to hide then this should be a non issue

I don't understand how having a second/third job, kids going to college or getting furloughed has anything to do with working in the union to support 12,000+ pilots.
I am not on FPL, have never gotten any FPL, I am not currently volunteering or working as any kind of ALPA committee member, but my question is this:
-When people get upset about FPL, are they really, deep down inside, upset because they are not the ones getting paid for "doing nothing but sit in a comfy office and work Tuesday through Thursday" (note: last part in quotes because I believe it is what some people perceive). Those that are upset about it, have you been beating the doors down, trying to get on a committee and help out?
