Why yes, everyone has a friend who has heard:
(1) The airplanes are a conformity nightmare and some were built under license with unapproved parts.
(2) The mechanics have looked the airplanes over and they are in great shape with logbooks in engrish, I mean english.
(3) The future of the domestic market is unclear given the real possibility of a recession.
(4) We need these airplanes to backfill the inefficient RJ's which do not have the capabilities of providing the lift we need for our growing markets.
(5) The airplanes are a "done deal." Staffing to begin next bid.
(6) The airplanes are being traded 1 for 3 RJ's (that would make them more expensive than a new 737-800 with winglets, IFE, HUDs for both seats and a gold plated lav by the way)
(7) Things just take longer in China.
(8) Richard Anderson does not want them.
(9) Richard Anderson does not want expensive new airplanes, only these used ones.
(10) and a drum roll for this rumor... Comair is getting them.
That is all the latest and greatest. Nothing official, although everyone's friend has heard it straight from Mr. Anderson, Mr. Bastian, or Elvis Presley.
My apologies for being a smart alec, but as a new hire I've been trying to follow this story as close as I can. Truthfully, none of these rumors were made up (by me) anyway.

I was talking with one of the ATP ACP's the other day and he said that Anderson had put the MD-90's "on the bubble." i.e. likely not going to happen.
I'm hoping we'll get them though....

Can anyone tell me how long the average wait is from day two of the interview till the email saying you are good to attend training. I know they are waiting on the background and the shrink but is that 1 week, 2 weeks, longer?
I interviewed last week and I am anxious for that email.
Thanks,
BFS
