His point was if they did we would be seeing at least 40 more mainline jets here and at 16 pilots per airplane that is 640 jobs. AKA growth.

Correct-a-mundo

An idea, maybe send it to your reps.
I read it several times before I posted. I'm sorry if I misunderstood. I really still don't see that I took it wrong but maybe I did. I have a hair trigger when it comes to scope....sorry.

Exactly what I figured would happen. Anyone who thinks this management team has fallen out of love with outsourcing is fooling themselves IMO.

And that friends, is why we are getting additional E170's. Count on the rest up to the 255 limit. We are arguing about not loosening Scope further -sorry, it's too many at 255.

Forget all the hyperbole about parking 50 seaters - sure they are - to be replaced 3 for 2 with the same overall seat capacity for aircraft better positioned to replace DC9 flying.

My guess is they will be used to fill much of the capacity on the LGA slot swap when that is approved.

When asked about what would replace the DC-9 capacity, Ed B. said this so matter-of-factly that I threw up in my mouth a little.

That would slowly draw down the outstanding ASA agreements, giving realistic and reasonable timelines for the sub-contractors to find alternate business opportunities and allow DAL to spool up the recaptured flying on the mainline side.
This is a GREAT idea!!! Everyone... please pass this idea to your reps. I have new reps taking office 01MAR and this idea will be included in my email to them on that date.

From the same investor conference - "in the market" for more 70 seat Embraers and some 76 seaters to replace DC-9s.
When was that said? I never heard that in the call. I did however hear they're looking for planes to be flown by mainline pilots, and that airbus, Boeing, embraer, and bombardier were some choices.

It was during the Q&A session, and he definitely said it - right after he mentioned the eight 70-seaters that RAH announced moving to DAL recently.

It was Raymond James. You couldn't hear the questioners, but it was clear from his response that the question was about replacement of DC-9 capacity.
