Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Many days the SC list is built by noon - 1 PM. You can tell if it is built by checking the list of available pilots for that day. If you don't see any SC assignments, then they haven't done that yet. If you do see SC assignments and you are not one of them, you can usually count on having LC. They could change it at the last minute, but that is very unusual. Don't know when your last commuter flight is that gets you to base, but you can avoid a commute in the night before if you check for this around noon.
Brocc,
Plan on having to fly out the night before but do exactly what you did and call scheduling to see if they will slip it to 10am. What's the worst that can happen? They say no and you have to go in the night before like you were planning any way. They say ok and you have another night at home.
FTB,
Congrats and I hope Mrs. FTB is doing well!!!

Not always true. The Reserve Availability List does list the SC, but only when they update it. Often I've gotten a SC assignment for the next day by 9am, but the RAL doesn't show up with SC until noon or later. It's just when they get around to updating it. I've been assigned SC for the next morning as late the evening before. They only have to give you ten hour notice.
True, I'm mixing the times they put the SC on your line. I've also gotten SC put on my line at 2pm. Basically, on your last X day, check your schedule after 3pm, and see what you've got.

I doubt a clean sheet 737/797 would deliver much beyond the 20% that the NEO would. Maybe a few percent, but I'd hardly call that obsolete. Maybe the 797 would have the infinite hull life cycles or whatever, but really does anyone think a brand new 320 with 25-30 years on it is "obsolete"? Its all about the efficiency and operating costs and the NEO will have very comparable operating costs especially when you factor in the better part of an additional decade flying gas guzzlers around waiting for their 797. That is a steep off the books price that is nevertheless built in to the 797. Too little too late IMHO. Until we see next-next gen the difference in efficiency between the 320 NEO and the mythical 797 just won't be that significant and the NEO has the lead big time.
We need to change some of our hotels to Hyatt Places! I just stayed one. Really nice hotel. Good internet, inexpensive food, free breakfast, BIG LCD TV's, and overall nice rooms. Plus, the fitness room is well equipped.
Anybody know why we changed hotels in FLL? That was a great location! Somebody told me we're inland now.

Some of the Hyatt Place properties are conversions of older properties, and they are not-so fine tuned. They've tried to upgrade the rooms and facilities, and some have worked out, but others I have stayed at are lacking and the staff was sorta-sorta.
I stayed in one near DFW, as a revenue customer, no less, at it was really pretty uneven across the board. I spoke with the manager the next day, and he sliced a huge chunk off my bill, but still, if you are going to press the high end market, consistency is key, and some of their properties don't quite have it yet.
I used to think that Westins were universally good as well, but I stayed at one a couple of months ago that was just horrible...rooms way below the Westin average, and the staff couldn't give two poops about anything.

A caveat, it does suck on cruise ship weekends. Its packed and every cat rancher not wearing a DAL FA uniform is in attendance.

Pilot Schedule
Is there anywhere I can look to decode the symbols and abbreviations on the monthly pilot schedule as printed out from iCrew?
Thanks.
Thanks.
