Sick leave being 100% pay vs a step down to 75% makes a difference as well. The way our patterns were built vs they way rotations are built now have an affect as well(D**m computers) as well as the differences in our computer bidding programs. Point being, you are correct and know way more about where the fDAL contracts have been and you probably do have way more insight to the DAL contract, I have a lot to learn. I am not saying that the NWA contract is better than the current DAL contract, Just that in first 2 years of being under the DAL contract working for near the same or a little less money for 40 days more per year makes me prefer the old contract, that is all and in no way profess to know everything about the way forward. I wish I did, I would share it with everyone.
Sick leave being 75% instead of 100%? Are you talking about the 95+% of guys who use less than the threshold required to make the pay less than 100% Cherrypicking is easy, just like hindsight being 20/20. How about the 25-30% payraise realized since the merger, or the profit sharing you'll be getting next month. But you know all this. Its been covered ad nauseum.

Are you serious??? They have a contract, which I'm sure they have reminded the company of continuously. These are the groups that are filing interference claims and dragging out this process. You expect them to get more than what is in their contract?

Cog;

I'm one of the 95%, and I dont think I'm a full up socialist, but there has to be some mechanism by which the sick leave covers a person at 100% for the full term of (lets say) a broken arm or leg.

"Latest and Greatest"
Of the Day.

It will not be awarded daily, and on occasion I may even have to award it to myself (maybe a few days late after realizing what I had previously posted), but it will always be available as a prize to those who have distinguished themselves.

*Disclosure: I have had a few tonight, and if I judge that it was an unfair award, I will follow through and award it to myself. Good night.
And to think I was given a warning by the moderators for calling someone a douchebag in another thread in the past.

It may be a small thing until YOU are the one that needs it....then all of a sudden it can be a big thing.

Yeahbut...this guy put in a picture of a hot chick, which makes it OK!

For that fresh, clean feeling...ahhh. Or you can just do what Joan Rivers does, pour some Fresca on a panty liner and...Strap it on boys!

I too was one of the 95% for 25 yrs until I had foot surgery with a 6 month recovery period than it does become a big deal. Sure wish I had my 1300 hrs of sick leave back.

Exactly, you have Rotater cuff surgery and you are out for 4-5 months you get the crap kicked out of you when it comes to pay. Just saying, it should be 100%for the full yearly allotment. You will always have those that abuse the sick leave policy, but for those injurys and surgerys that take some time 100% sure would help.

Completely agree. With age 65 everyone will need it at some point.
