From the ruling:
4. For the period of five (5) years beginning with the first bid period after the issuance of the Single Operating Certificate (SOC), no pre-merger Northwest pilot may be awarded or displaced to a vacancy on a B777 aircraft or category and no pre-merger Delta pilot may be awarded or displaced to a B787 or B747 vacancy.
5. Should the merged company take delivery of any aircraft which is/are a replacement of any aircraft covered by Paragraph 4., the captain positions and, as applicable, the first officer positions on each such replacement aircraft will be allocated in accordance with the Paragraph 4. restrictions on the type it is replacing.

Actually I think the fence would still apply. I believe the only way the fence is modified is if the 744s were replacements for 777s. Then the new 744 positions would be available to southies.
If the 744s are a new order, or in my example, a replacement for A330s, the whale flying would still belong solely to the north pilots.

If they were new orders then I agree they would be fenced. But if they are a replacement aircraft for 330's, which we can all bid, I think the argument could be made that those airplanes should be open to all. A moot point any way since it's not going to happen. (Glass half empty today!)

As for rumor, that's pretty wild. Can't believe that. Everything we've been told is Marketing likes the A332 for the longer, thinner routes.

I gathered that it meant that you are at max longevity on the pay scale.
I know that you were initially trying to infer and longevity based pay system with no difference between aircraft. Or at least that is what I thought you were trying to infer
