...or someone senior to you in a different category take a VD into your category and bump you out. It cuts both ways. Always best to have some backup choices listed.

From everything I've seen, it looks as though all the company did was express the importance of voting versus not voting in this election.
Not being a legal expert here in union matters, but I really don't think they have much to stand on.
I think the AFA/IAM was counting on a large majority of "No" voters not realizing that they had to vote one way or the other if they wanted their vote to count.
I think the fight was contentious to get the voting rules changes because either side thought one process versus the other would work to their advantage.

If you desire to move to something else then make sure you have things in your advance entitlement page. Just be aware that sometimes strange things happen and people get bids they did not expect and have buyers remorse. In addition as a general rule your voluntary displacement page should mirror your advance entitlement page.

Anybody know why a trip in open time would show both positions A & B staffed versus being empty?

Second is if the rotation has a LCA somewhere on it, and they are getting ready to dump the FO from it, and assign a guy in need of IOE. It should disappear in a few mins.
Third, is someone that called in for a commuter clause. Scheduling is putting it there, but will not release the FO from it until they are certain the pilot cannot make it. (Have seen this a few times)

It is not dropped. It is still part of their LOT until another line holder picks it up. It just shows up there. Many guys will put a trip they do not want on the swap board and Qualify it in the Open Time pot. If no one picks it up, they still fly it.

Doesn't look like the captain is a LCA, but im guessing they may just drop both A & B positions to get the IOE completed.

The paring will list all of those assigned, not only those wishing to drop.
