can anyone help me out on this one.... as a reserve pilot can i pick something up off the swap board and if so does it just get added to my 70 hour guarantee?

No. Reserves can't pick up off the swap board. They can't pick up open time via white slip either. You can submit a yellow slip and volunteer to fly on your off days, however you don't get the days back & the time only goes toward your 70 hours. You can also submit a green slip. This way is better because you get the day off back, plus the pay is in addition to your 70 hours even if it is the only trip you fly all month.

thanks guys. appreciate your help. so the only real way to get over the 70 hours is to put in a green slip for day off flying in pcs?

For reserve folks like us, flying on an X-day is called a "yellow slip". Go into PCS, slip requests, then fly on X-days.

whats the best place to go read about all this stuff so i dont have to bother you guys with the stuff i should know?
