Is there a reason that we don't layover in downtown MSP anyway?

Uh oh. That's 7 years bad luck.

We used layover in downtown MSP till say two years ago. Great hotel and location but the gym was even poorer. We switched for a better rate and they combined the layover and training hotel..The volume I'm sure gave them the $$$$ saving they wanted.

Heyas Scoop,

Actually, there is, and its probably a 10 minute walk through the Skyway (you don't need to go outside) to find it. I'm trying to remeber the name of the building, but it's the one with Cray Computers located in it. From the hotel, sort of walk around the Skyway counter clockwise, and that's how I bumped into it.

Just follow the Skyway from the hotel until you come to that building. The Y is located on the Skyway level, behind the Cray offices.

Downtown Minne is probably another 15-20 minutes from the airport, at least, more in traffic. There's not much there that you can't find in STP.

So did someone do their math wrong in that memo, or did I miss the memo about us getting another 17 new/used MD90's?
I heard a nasty rumor that the MD88/90 mods are on hold. It appears the single galley in front of first class isn't cutting it. I was told too many first class passengers complained about all four FAs going back and forth past them to get to the only galley and trash bins.

Anyone hear the same?

I think you can get a free pass to a fitness center from the front desk. Just ask them.

I think the front desk will give you a free pass if you are not a member.

I haven't heard the mods were on hold, but I have heard the HVC's are NOT happy about all the back & forth necessary due to 1 galley. I personally think the mod is a stupid idea. Who has 1 galley for 160 people, & all the way in the front? Not well thought out. A pure bean counter idea who doesn't fly on MD88/90 products IMO.

I agree with you johnso29. It seems too many ideas are being made by the bean counters and not by people who would know what is best.

That's been going on for years. It is one of Delta's biggest weaknesses.

It's night/day when comparing what Mpls has to offer as opposed to St Paul. I'll take the downtown Mpls layover in a heartbeat as opposed to staying in St Paul.
