New,

I got this from the merger section, unofficial guide to Delta reserve thread.....

You can understand a lot about the rules if you remember that you need to get 9 hours rest and need to acknowledge trips 3 hours before report. 9 + 3 = 12, which is the long call leash.

Hopefully we will be seeing some educational publications very soon.

Like 29 said - long call is a 12 hour call out. Short call is a two hour call and can be either a 12 hour block (domestic) or a 24 hour block (international). Kind of socks for the international guys since with the same 6 short call periods an international pilot is on short call for twice as long as a domestic guy.

It pushed so much flying onto the FO's that it made 38 hard lines and 34 rsv lines. That's near 95% rsv coverage and I still cannot drop crap. Compared to the aprox 48 CA lines & aprox 24 rsv lines? I DON'T GET IT??

I know Shuttle America is now flying 25% of our flying but there is a continued discconnect between FO/CA...

I say, this because that is where the thinking is of our union leadership.

The argument is that we cannot pay rates like that here, and we cannot pay mainline rates for those just, etc. IE lets not find a solution.

Sounds just like the statements made by the MEA030 leadership. Good luck.

Looks like they might be in the process of a redo. I noticed a lot of 87-89 hour lines....my bet (hope) is they get thinned out.

How can they do that to Int'l guys? You have to have rest every 24 hours (max scheduled duty of 15), looks in violation of FARs.........

That only applies once you actually start flying. The initial call is all the FARs guarantee prior to departure. Once you're on the rotation, the extra rest rules kick in.
