Problem is that the MEC as stated by Lee at the LEC 44 meeting, all of those other other airlines are in their current cash situation, unlike DAL because there scope is too tight. The MEC as conveyed by LM sees regional feed and it lower cost as a profit maker that betters the balance sheet and the mainline rates here at DAL. Places like CAL, and AMR are in their minds having issues because they cannot effectively operate the correct jet for the route.
I say, this because that is where the thinking is of our union leadership.

The argument is that we cannot pay rates like that here, and we cannot pay mainline rates for those just, etc. IE lets not find a solution.

My friends wife was the HR specialist who interviewed the last 150 pilots hired at NWA. My buddy and I were int the first few Compass Classes and only went there because we were told the way to NWA was thru Compass. While in Montreal finishing up our types.. his wife called and told us NWA was going to hire to cover there summer schedule and in fact she was shifted over to do the Pilot interviews. Believe me when I say, I had friends who couldn't get the Compass interview in the first month or two. fortunatly for them when they didn't get the Compass interview because NWA started interviewing 2 month's after I got hired and 4 people I know who wanted to get Compass interviews (but didn't have as much time, experience, etc.) ended up getting jobs at NWA.... Oh and by the way there interview was almost the same minus no simulator. Yes I Had to fly a 727 around the sky's my buddies now at NWA/DELTA did NOT. I assume you feel like you are better then anybody at Compass?
That's weird. I know a guy who was in the 2nd newhire class @ NWA, & he had to fly the 747-200 sim in his interview. I had too as well.

I stand corrected then. I was told that the NWA guys were not flying the 727 sim and i figured all the others were being used. I imagine that the 747-200 was quit interesting if coming from glass after years.

I'm fairly sure every NWA pilot that was hired post 1994 had to fly a simulator to get the job, mostly the 747-200 and some 727-200 (when the 747 wasn't available). You didn't even get to the 3 person panel interview unless you passed it. No flight directors or autopilots allowed.

The rumor on the line was that was the biggest hurdle for guys with "glass only" experience, but the company didn't care because they planned on putting them on the DC-9.

I think the Compass interview process was the same as NWA's.

Actually interview canadites were subject to flying the 747-400, 747-200, or DC9 sim for the NWA interview.

I was originally scheduled for the 747-400, but it was broke so after studying the profile for 30 minutes I was given 10 minutes to go over the 747-200. It was certainly different after so much time on the E145.

Heyas ACL,

You'd think that management has more than enough management employees to do this job, without Moak and Co helping them out.

His job is to protect DAL jobs, not help give them away. Watch them try to pull every fine print procedural trick to keep the FOUR resolutions from FOUR different LECs from showing up at the MEC meeting.
