Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
So, the A320 that landed in the Hudson, USAir 1549, is headed to a CLT museum.
I do think the DC-9-40 ought to be headed to join the 762 Spirit of Delta as "once flown by Newk." Just thinking.
Speaking of the 9, let's talk about the 9. Guys flying it want to share some insight and thoughts about the bird in case there is an ATL base? A friend and I were talking about it today and it'd be nice to hear some thoughts of the transition back to non-FMS, trip QOL and other pertinent line pilot stuff. Thinking about it, maybe on this AE maybe on the next.

Wow, our buddy passes really really suck. Just tried to get a friend to Pdx from Pbi and back at the end of the month and got a real shock. Flights are wide open. Buddy pass round trip price is $374.94. On Delta.com a guaranteed seat $370.80 incl. taxes. Tell me again why we have buddy passes??
Niiiiice. We really should put that on the lav trucks. "Ramp, just got cut off by the... turd burglar."
Ramp: "And I care why?"
More like "did you see that ramp, I just got caught off." "Say again?" "Ramp, I just got cut off." "Who is I?" "What do you mean who is I? Are you telling me you're not watching me with binoculars as I taxi out?" "And you are...?" "I don't understand, I thought your only job was to watch out for me!"
It would be funny, if it wasn't so sad to say that sort of happened.
There is a dump truck company up here where I live called Mother Trucker.

I do appreciate you as a moderator....that's a great word. When it comes to discussing politics, a moderator is what is desperately needed. The discussion inevitably denigrates to name-calling, and mud slinging. There's some quote that I can't seem to finish, but it's something like "....character assassination is the last bastion of the ill informed..." You always know when ANOTHER guy KNOWS he's lost the debate on the merits of his argument--as he will resort to name-calling. None of us want this board to turn in to 'that kind of place'. So, what I'm trying to say, is, "Thanks". For all you do, this Bud's for you--(sorry, couldn't resist).

I suggest you jump seat on it before you make any decisions. It's nothing like the 88, other than having wings and a tail.

Buddy pass: $361.40
Delta.com: $930.60
just for grins:
AA.com: $420-$843 economy fares with or w/o restrictions
I don't disagree they (buddy passes) along with most all benefits we've enjoyed are slowly losing their appeal and worst of all costing more and more

I'm kind of in the lurker mode nowadays, but I'll jump out to vouch for the -9. Its a great airplane. Yes, it's a lot of work. But, after you fly it for a few months, the work becomes second nature and you hardly notice it.
I'm sure it's the hardest airplane to fly in the fleet, but it's dooable. I say go for it.-- especially if you are going for the big pay raise.
