Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
I would not be shocked to see the CVG 73N move to DTW in a future bid. There is a ton of 73N time being flow out of DTW. (320 time out of NYC too)
WRT to 7ER's in MSP. My personal guess is that if they close the 330 base there they will need to add more ER's to lessen the ripple effect across the system.
As the per merger numbers indicated, of the 1400 pilots based in MSP 1000 lived in domicile.

"Why are the majority of pilots in a domestic category assigned short call from 03:00 to 06:00, when most of the trips that need covered daily happen at around 17:30?"
Answer: "To maximize your availability"
Result: Crew timed out, green slips, and occasionally a fatigue call. Short call not utilized.

I could see a surplus bid on the 88, I could also see them letting attrition take pilots out of the category and shrinking accordingly.
If you look in January you'll see as many as 55-60 pilots on reserve per day but keep in mind that is January. I bid to reserve, well in most months I 'bid' down, and typically I fly 6-8 days a month or at the most 10 and it'd be more but a majority of SC trips seem to go to WS's especially 1-2 day stuff.
But ATL 88B at 505 pilots is the 2nd largest category in the system and is only behind the international category of ATL 7ER B which is 530. It didn't take much to wipe out the list on Christmas and IROPS can clean this category out as there are a lot of flights that have to be covered.
FWIW, 60% of this category are pre-9/11 FDAL hires.

Look at the ER staffing system wide.
