FLCH vs Flight Level Change
Yikes, someone insisted on departure in the right window? I think I've flown with that guy. I've still got a blank look even for stuff that was in the transition material and we didn't have that many changes. Saying FiLCH just sounds wrong to me though. I've really enjoyed flying with the fNW guys in LA so far.

Happy Christmas to my Delta brethren, especially the guys flying the line, and many thoughts and thanks to all those serving the country in far away places.

My friend is a consultant at Deloitte and he only flies United. He lives in Chicago, though, so it makes sense to take United.

I spent a lot of time in the jumpseat of NW 757s in between LGA and DTW when I was flying the MD-88 (about a year before the merger was announced), so when I went to 767 school I was calling it "Felch" like I was used to hearing.

"We call it flight level change here, son"

"okay then... I'm on probation still.... whatever you say!"

767 school at Delta was not very good... very little in the books as far as actual stuff that is normally done on the line and even worse systems manuals. It's like it was barely come out of the dark ages of the good ol' boy flying. The other two schools I've been through were much much better... 73N school was absolutely fantastic.

Merry Christmas, all!
