And again......
The Iron Bowl was good but did anyone stay up and watch Boise State last night?
I would not want to be that kicker. Poor kid.

Come on, do you really care? This is not college football. These players have zero relevance to their schools. They are not there for a education and in most cases are not getting one. They are hired and at the colleges to play football. They are well taken care of to do that.
If you honestly want to watch real college football then find a good division 3 team near you and go to their games. Lots of fun and you can see actual student athletes playing sports.

Sailing - There are still a few old school guys left - Joe is one of them. I am not saying that the Penn State guys are not "Hired to play football," for the most part, they probably are. At least Joe makes an effort to get them educated while they are there.
In his 56th year at Penn State University, head coach Joe Paterno has won two National Championships (1982 and ’86) and has led the Nittany Lions to five undefeated seasons (’68, ’69, ’73, ’86 and ’94). He has also won two Big Ten titles (’94 and ’05) and has the NCAA Division 1-A record for bowl appearances (33) and bowl wins (22).
Many joke that Paterno has the fastest 40-yard dash time of any coach in the NCAA after he sprinted down official Dick Honig following a blown call in a 2002 contest. No official time has been set for the old man, but he made it clear to referees everywhere that they can’t run away from the likes of “JoePa.”
Paterno is everything that’s right about college football from a coaching perspective. Forget for a second all that he’s accomplished. Forget the 350-plus wins (second to only Florida State’s Bobby Bowden), the 2005 AP Coach of the Year award, and the 1986 Sportsman of the Year honor he received from Sports Illustrated.
All of that is great – fantastic actually. But what Paterno does for his athletes in regard to academics should rate second to none on his long accomplishment list.
In the 1970s, Paterno started what was known as the “Grand Experiment.” Since then, Paterno has required that all of his players excel in academics as well as football. Through the years, his Penn State Nittany Lions have consistently had above-average graduation rates that are often among the top 10 in Division 1-A.The former English major stresses that none of his students use double negatives or incorrect grammar such as: “we played good.”
In addition, he and his wife Sue have donated more than $4 million to expand Pattee Library on Penn State’s campus, and have helped raised another $13.5 million in private donations for its construction.
Scoop
There is an interesting article I think out of San Fransisco about the SEC, Bruce Pearl and how it relates to Cam Newton.
Suspending Bruce Pearl for 'Established Facts' May Set Precedent for Cam Newton
I'll let you read it without my commenting.

As to laptops, kids do stupid stuff such as buying stolen laptops or even me, enjoying yummy papa johns pizza at 1am in college without knowing it was all stolen from the delivery man's car. Maybe I should've asked more questions?
Short story, sometimes you run in circles that are not wise to be in. Wise for Newton to get out of Florida. As to cheating, meet Thayer Evans. A NYT/Foxsports writer who see's who is at the top (Texas a year or so ago) and attaches his name to it with some incendiary articles for attention. Florida folks are denying, investigations are being launched because it is a felony. Looks as if he made the expulsion claim up out of thin air as you wouldn't be in expulsion jeopardy anyways. He will keep this up year after year until he actually lands one. So far, he's not been close.

But speaking of Newton, let me say this. I think the way Saban, Ingram and company handled the Newton story leading into the game and after was classy. The stadium playing "Take the money and run" and "Son of a Preacher Man" for warm ups... funny, smart asses, but funny.

The pass they threw with 9 sec left, thanks to poor defensive play calling, to be in position to kick was unbelievable. Reminded me of the Giants and Patriots SB as Brady almost pulled that off with Moss but the db nailed the coverage. But I was so confused on the FG, it was forever before they said no good, it was wierd.
Put the kid on suicide watch and witness protection.

Swap with the Pot
Hi Guys, Swap with the Pot question. A trip showed up in open time for next month and I want it. I used swap with the pot and requested the trip and to drop a carry-out trip that starts on the 29th. It say it is legal on the rules check thingy, any problems on it being a carry-out over New Years day? Also when do they award the swap trips? Thanks first time player.....

Your problem is going to be getting rid of your cary out trip, they won't allow you to drop it until they have run the Jan. bids and see what kind of reserve coverage they have on New Year's Day and the next few days, by then the trip you want will be gone.
Yeah, it Sucks, but that's the way they do it...
