All kidding aside, I'm thinking this is going to be an interesting transition. It's not unrealistic to conclude they're going to be trying to find some sort of scapegoat to focus on, jointly.
The South F/A's after a vote, I've seen before. The North, I'm sure are going to be shell-shocked, and paranoid. If there is anything at all to this "family" stuff, well, strike that, if there is anything to the idea that it's a more gentle, less hostile environment on the "South" side of the world, then I think our attitude will play a role. Not as much as the attitude of the "winners" in the F/A world, but some role nonetheless.
For my part, I'll do everything I can to be part of the solution. I've always tried to be polite and professional with them, despite the divide between our worlds, and it's worked well with most.

I'm just trying to say there is a great deal of mistrust and fear of the company with the fNWA FAs.

Flew with some Delta North FAs last week. They were adamant about how awful they knew flying with Delta South FAs would be. Consensus was a union was an absolute necessity, and without it life was going to be hardly worth living. Suffice it to say, they had nothing good to say about Delta South FAs. They gave me the impression they were determined to be miserable (personally and to fly with) when they start flying with Delta South FAs.
Funny, but if I remember correctly, there was a little bit of chatter from us pilots about how terrible it is going to be to fly with a N (S) delta pilot. I will show them, yadda, yadda, but when we actually co-mingled as a crew, we each found out how much we had in common and the N/S issue really is dead for all intensive purposes.

Maybe context wasn't the best word to describe the critique. "If you don't like it quit" has a lot more attitude than what he was saying, was what I was trying to get across. I don't think he had as much vitriol as you may have thought he intended.

On the F/A side the plan should be for them to sit down, get to know each other, and see if they find consenus, maybe around the idea of a third union with a better reputation, like Teamsters. What's been missing from this is mutual respect. I thought it was a pretty dumb startegic error for the smaller group to try to defer integration, and force their way through the new NMB rules, and using grievances to keep them apart. It basically alienates the larger group because it suggests that the smaller group knows better. The way they solve this is by working together, and finding consensus. Either they find the company's foreplay pleasant enough together, or they find it too phony together.
First side to actually act like they respect the other side wins.
Really? How come? Has Delta done anything to this point to earn mistrust and fear? Seriously? Fear?
What are some examples of AFA's worst fears?
Not being a smart ass - just wondering what they fear. Fear itself?
