I get the impression that the reason for the new type of TSA screening procedures are for a reason. My guess is they have specific information that they are targeting. It seems to include pilots too.
This is what I noticed.

Does anyone have any firm intel as to the identities of the candidates for MEC Chairman? I heard that Kingsley's one of them. Who else?

And the way ALPA is structured, you won't have any say or likely any idea until it's a signed deal. Expect something in your v-file with the outcome.

Heyas,
Good back and forth on the DCI thing.
I agree. Dusted off airplanes are not "growth airplanes". Not to mention the loss of 14 frieghters, 10 757s and over 100 DC-9-30s (just from the NWA side), and forfeiture of an entire market segment.
DCI ASMs may very well be down, but consider this, what ASMs were lost and is that flying that mainline pilots have done in the past?
If XJ pulls off a Saab or an RJ from Topeka or Iron Mountain, when was the last time a mainline pilot performed that flying (if ever)? Obviously we want all the flying, but if the ASMs are shifted from flying that wasn't performed (recently) by mainline pilots to flying that was, it still represents a net loss of flying for mainline pilots even if the DCI ASMs are down as a whole.
Walk down the A Concourse in DTW (or B...or C..sigh), and you will see DCI flying almost entirely to ex-DC9 routes...such is an example of this mechanism in operation.
Figures lie and liars figure, but the proof is in the airplanes and the bottom line is the number of pilots we have, which in this case, is still less than after the merger, and nearly 4,500 pilots less than the combined peak.

Question for you Yankees. Were you this virulent anti ALPA before the merger? I ask this of you because I know the answer for the Pre Delta side. The DALPA forum has always been rife with naysayers. Just wondering if these feelings were long held or recently acquired.
Honest question, not a troll or flame.

I do not think that King is running for Master Chair.
