I think it was one of the company's that dealt with the construction of runway 28/10 that said they built airports all over the world and in 3rd world countries and never had seen anything like the city of Atlanta.

Probably true...but you have to give Atlanta some credit. When we (ATL airport, city, etc) decided we needed another long runway, we condemned the land, built the runway RIGHT OVER I-285 and finished early, under budget (which was probably corruptly inflated to begin with.

If this was anywhere in the NE or S. California, the NIMBY's would still be suing each other for another decade at least!

Still working on the name, if you have any ideas speak up. Here is what I have so far:

The landing strip
The bearded clam
Quagmire's
We probably crossed paths. I flew lots of Reforgers in the day (and spent untold nights stumbling around Frankfurt). How about these for names (staying with the flying theme, of course)?

The only thing that bothers me is that they are sending the AWABS out and then a few minutes later sending another one. Difference is that we are on the clock. I like the fact that we can push as soon as the door is closed though.

Classic. We had a dispatcher trying to negotiate a new slot for us in to MSP last winter and had to talk with the "MSP Slot Coordinator".

I thought "Slot Coordinator" sounded like a bureaucratic pimp.

SATCHIP IS BACK!!!!

Hey, I've got a 24-17 Auburn game to watch... haven't seen it yet, you wanna know why? Because I've watched a lot of Auburn games over the years and I kind of look like this during them:

Although Cam is something special.

True. But here is an honest question, would we have been better served with a taxiway V on the southside prior to 10/28?

A) I agree, I like being able to immediately push,

B) I LOVE THAT TOLERANCE IS GONE... how was that ever even allowed?!?? I mean RJ's count how many people are on board, how many bags, they load it in the computer and they're gone. This wishy washy don't really know how many people are on your plane but you can add two more and goodbye should've never been allowed. I still can't get over that without asking the FA's we still have no clue what to tell ATC in an emergency when they ask how many souls are on board?

C) Did I miss something btw, a LCA said you "technically" had to go in order with the checklist... so are we technically not allowed to do the performance check prior to push even if we have the numbers early and are still boarding and just sitting there doing nothing but posting on this foru... I mean reviewing the green pages again?

I mean if you have to go in the order of the checklist, then I need to do the pushback start, start em' up, sit there with engines running and then do the performance check. Or I guess I could just sit there with the engines off, packs off and ignition on and then do the performance check.

FTB;
You get your numbers plug em in. If you do a taxi checklist and then get new numbers redo the performance and taxi checklists again. Complete the required tasks and then run the checklists in order.

Question
Q5
The whole point of the assumed flap setting is to get you do move out on the taxiway and not sit on the ramp or at the gate waiting for numbers. Just wait for the AWABS then do the performace checklist and then the taxi checklist. Repeat as necessary. We have gotten two AWABS and most after a taxi checklist, so we redo the performance, run the performance checklist and then the taxi checklist again. Easy Peasy.

That's what I thought. I'm not one to question a LCA though but that's what he said.

It'd be funnier if he was a she.
