Was he converted to the new category on Oct. 1 or is he still in his old category for his time in training?

I'm not sure if it's still this way but it used to be if you were still in your previous category while in training you would bid it and they would remove the trips and pay you for them.

Thanks iah. Thanks Denny. I don't think he is due to convert until November or December.

So, this shadow bid thing. Really?

Hypo's:

So, he finishes training before October 15th and he has a 12 day trip on the 747-400 on the 16th, he goes back out on that trip? Ouch.

Also, some mid level to barely regular line holder just missed out on a line because my bud got trips assigned to him in PBS that he will not fly? Double ouch.

Really?

Default training and bench pay

Good information gang.

If one was to be benched for a month, how are they paid? Do you need to bid during your bench perioud and then while in training?

Thanks,
kargo

Nah, Once youve started training or convert for a new bird you do not fly the old bird. The money, however, is yours.

As 80 said, once you start training you will not go back and fly your old aircraft but you will get paid for a trip if it's on your line.

If it was awarded via a "shadow" bid, the trips should have been awarded again during the PBS award process so that mid level/junior guy should have been awarded a line.

If you are curious whether the trips were awarded via (I like that word) a shadow bid, look at the wide report under his name on the left hand side. I think that is where it says "shaddow bidder" or something like that.

I'm in training for the 88 during Sept and Oct. I bid DTW DC9 max for OCT and was awarded a shadow bid worth 74hrs. The carryout portion showed up on my NOV 88 bid as well with the credit added to my NOV line.

Unfortunately, until after the check ride, I will not be able to swap trips.

No double ouch. You never go back and fly your old aircraft once you start training on a new one.
A shadow bidder for whatever reason is awarded what he can hold for pay purposes only. The trips remain in the pot to be awarded to junior bidders so no one loses a line.

80, Denny, nerd, sailing (slow or whoever you are),

Thanks for the info. I'll pass it on. I'm still learning, so I'm not ready for the test yet.

Delta Air Lines Newsroom - News Archive

AMSTERDAM, Oct. 19, 2010 – Aerolíneas Argentinas, the flag carrier of Argentina, will sign an agreement by the end of October to officially start the process of joining SkyTeam as the first South American member of the airline alliance. Customers will benefit from increased access to and from Latin America.

SkyTeam is actively working to strengthen its presence in Latin America, a region with strong growth figures and a positive outlook for the future. Aerolíneas Argentinas, which is expected to join SkyTeam in 2012, fits perfectly in SkyTeam’s growth strategy as an airline with a long-term plan to expand and revitalize its business.
Cheers
George

Hey FNWs,

Anyone else having trouble getting their completion codes and print outs for CQ? Kind of in No-Man's land here. Thoughts?
