I don't think you will see the basing on the 9 change. In the flight attendant conference call Anderson stated he wants to accelerate the retirements of the 50's pending getting replacement lift. I assume he meant more MD-90's. They are not going to rebase a category that might be gone in 36 months. The maintenance expenses are also running higher on the nine then they had hoped and fuel is on the way back up. He further stated that they have 19 MD90 flying the line today but we have 49 under contract so there are additional 30 MD90's that will be coming to the line in the next 12 to 18 months as they get through the mod lines. There is however a problem getting them ready and they are already well behind schedule on the mod line process. That is why some of the DC9-40's have had retirement delayed a few months.

Thanks for any clarification for those 5000 of us that missed Indoc

You have to be converted 1 Dec. You will be converted unqualified and will sit home until you start training on your next aircraft. You will be paid a pro rated share of the ALV for your new aircraft. Divide the ALV by 30 or 31 depending on the month and that will be your pay rate per day. Its one of the better deals in the contract. Enjoy your time off!

Still I can cross my fingers and hope it comes to ATL.

I heard that too. I know there are only two cities they think have the ability to support the 744 year round out of NYC. I also know that they want a stronger commitment to the 330 time in ATL before the jump on basing it here. If marketing can give that, then I see a lot of the MSP 330 time coming this way, and being backfilled by more 7ER time.

Heard anything about a NYC 320 base? Seems like we do a lot of flying through NYC, but then we do the same through LAX, CVG, & ATL so who knows?

Word on the street is they aren't making it through the mod shop as quickly as anticipated. Just what I heard.

When were they supposed to be here? We picked up a couple of them shortly before summer. I'd expect the others not to arrive until before next summers push.

I spoke with an MSP330 guy this past week. Take it for what it's worth, but they are being told that the company has taken a good hard look at the potential waterfall caused by closing and moving a 330/744 base and decided that it's not worth it. Probably just wishful thinking on their part, but it would cause a huge wave throughout the system that would cost a ton of training if they closed any of the current 330 bases. At least 25 MSP 330 capt's are senior enough to bump in to anything except the 777.

Delta almost dead last in on time arrivals in June July and August.
Thank goodness we're getting cs tool kits, that should help...
