It would be very interesting to find out what they are resigning for, maybe an expat flying gig?
If it's the 320 guy I know about, he was a recall and accepted another position outside the airlines. Had nothing to do with the E sim.

British Airways from 01JUN11 is resuming service to San Diego, operating Daily London Heathrow - San Diego service on board 3-class Boeing 777-200ER aircraft. IATA BSP data shows that the route is large in terms of indirect O+D pax with nearly 80,000 O+D passengers travelling between July 2009 and 2010, with American Airlines with having a 33% share via LAX and DFW.

One of my classmates, former military with no previous airline experience, quit after a couple months on the job. He felt the job was not for him. He got a flying job with the government so he could be home every night and live in Socal.

U.S.-based AerSale on Thursday announced the purchase of a fleet of 19 Boeing 747-400s from Japan Air Lines. The fleet of passenger planes is powered by CF6-80C2B1F engines.
JAL had previously announced plans to eliminate all 28 Boeing 747-400 aircraft from its fleet by 2011 as part of a restructuring plan.
“With this single transaction we have made a substantial financial commitment to AerSale’s growth plan, enabling us to provide quality aircraft that have been impeccably maintained by a top-tier international airline,” said Nicolas Finazzo, AerSale’s Chief Executive Officer.
AerSale said that this was the second of several large scale multi-fleet acquisitions that are part of the company’s 2010 business plan. The company said that in the near future another announcement will be made soon.
“We believe most of these aircraft will continue to fly, whether as passenger aircraft or as freighters,” added Robert Nichols, AerSale’s Chief Operating Officer. “This said, we are proceeding to disassemble a few of the aircraft and a good many of the engines installed on wing so as to position AerSale to become the leading provider of aftermarket CF6-80C2 engines and material.”
AerSale is a global provider of aftermarket aircraft engines, and their component parts to airlines, leasing companies, and OEM/MRO service providers. Its parent company is AerSale Holdings Inc.

Me and my family (wife + baby) were non-revving out of MHT-DTW, the Delta DC-9 went out with open seats but not us - weight critical. We got Zed fares on SWA, but time was very tight. I went to the Delta counter, got our checked luggage, literally ran over to SWA, where I checked in via the Kiosk (after having a very pleasant phone conversation with a res agent about available options, and making a listing). The kiosk spit out all sorts of passes to get to the gate - but I still had to check the luggage. The agent was very nice about making sure it would get to the plane (with limited time now), checking the load (and saying it would be tight). She suggested that we put the baby on my wife's lap, as it would be one less seat we needed. She made the change to the reservation - all in minutes and without any attitude that we seem to have with some Delta agents.
At the gate, the agent was again very pleasant, especially as I showed up halfway through boarding. She just said, "we'll see - but you never know!" With three minutes to push, she said, "we've got one seat - you want the jumpseat?" In the manner of 30 seconds, she had cleared my wife into the available seat, put me on the jumpseat and said, "Go!". We boarded the plane, I went left, she went right. 2 minutes later, we pushed from the gate, on-time. No attitude, no "it's too late".

An updated IT system would go a long way toward improving customer service.
