Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

Just noticed Mr. Anderson serves as a Board Member for the Federal Reserve Bank in addition to everything else he does.
The man really impresses me. Not only for his competency in our CEO job, but that he's also humble and respectful. Had him on board a few weeks ago. He boarded with other passengers, greeted the crew, took a seat in the back.
Hope Delta gets to keep him for many years to come.

Funny story:
Had a NWA 757 captain a few years back tell me of one of RA's early jumpseat rides as CEO at NWA. Walked into the cockpit, said "been on this thing many times," dropped down the seat and sat down. CA turned around, said "who the ****** are you, and I need to see some ID." (I put in the asterisks

Let's see....
As a Former North Pilot, I'm having trouble keeping track of the many reasons why we are so poor at this whole "merge" thing. Let me see if I can get all of them:
1.) We call in sick too much.
2.) We don't single engine taxi enough.
3.) We leave too many APU"s running at the gate.
4.) We complain too much.
5.) We don't follow established procedures enough.
6.) We overfly MSP too much.
7.) We take all the good "South" flying.
8.) We move into all the good "South" bases.
9.) We leave you all the horrible bases to fly out of.
10.) "Our" flight attendants are mean to you and the customers.
11.) We are too distrustful of management.
12.) We are too distrustful of our union leaders.
13.) We are not patient enough in waiting for change (for anything).
14.) Our negotiators invented the term "super premium widebody flying"
These above reasons are all fine and dandy, but can someone tell me when I can stop being a North pilot, and when I become a Delta pilot?
When do I stop getting analyzed as a "North Pilot?"
Is it a point reached on the above infraction list? 17? 21?
Or, is it a certain point in time down the road? A date? 2015? 2020?
Like seriously, when do the two groups actually merge? I must say, I hope it is soon.![Cool](https://www.airlinepilotforums.com/images/smilies/cool.gif)

Good God man grow a pair! I will address your gripes by number:
1. Unless your CPO has called you - you are not calling in sick enough.
2. SE taxi saves thousands - Botched fuel hedges cost millions.
3. "Too many" is too vague to comment on.
4. Do you know many Pilots who don't complain?
5. Established procedures are more guidelines than procedures - CAPT Barbossa (DAL LCA in charge of the undead).
6. If you indict two DAL Pilots, isnt that an indictment on all Pilots? And isn't that an indictment on the US aviation system? And finally, isn't that an indictment on the United States of America? Well I am not going to stand by and allow you to bad mouth the United States of America!!
7. I fly out of LAX - Alaska took all of our good flying.
8. As long as you stay out of the south-western bases its OK.
9. More bases is a good thing.
10. Flew with a North crew today - they were great!
11. It is not possible to be "too distrustful of management."
12. That is a plus! Trust but verify.
13. Patience is overrated.
14. That is actually true.

Actually my only beef with the FNWA guys is they keep calling me a hoser - as in "Hey are you a Hoser or what....Eh?"

Agreed. I remember after 9/11, there were congressional hearings where most airline CEO's attended. So many of them were absolute tool bags...extremely poor speakers and just all around unimpressive people. RA was our CEO at the time, and he stuck out like a sore thumb with his humble, professional and smart as hell demeanor. I was very proud he was speaking for us.

Hold that thought for the Alaska merger.

Great idea! Can we count the megapoodle and 767 as super premium this time too?
I don't think the fNW guys realize how long it's going to take to live that one down... or for us to re-use it.

And I am serious on the using it again. It's a great idea for a posturing stance!

FTB,
Are you dissin' on good ol' Gordon Bethune?
Some people had problems with him, but I kind of respected the man. At least he wasn't afraid to speak his mind. Neither was he afraid to mingle with the masses or the employees. There were several times when I was a COEX where I would just see him walking through the terminals at IAH, smiling at people, most of whom had no idea who he was.
GB and RA have very different styles but from what I can see they have one important thing in common: They both seem genuinely interested in running a good airline, which is more than I can say for some other airline CEOs. And I'll take that any day.

So when we have the APCF Latest and Greatest dinner party, could it turn out like the party the Cowboys had at that steak house Monday???
The Cowboys players decided to get back at a rookie, Dez Bryant who refused to participate in rookie hazing ritual of carrying a veteran players shoulder pads in practice by running up the bill at a fancy steakhouse.
The final damage, $54,896. 1 night. 1 restaurant.
Just a thought at the Carl/Buzzpat First Annual APCF Dinner Party
