Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

Anyone been able to book a room at the "downtown" crew hotel in New York lately? (i.e. last couple of weeks?) I've called the front desk, even asked the supervisor, and keep getting the same answer of "we don't honor the Delta Crew Rate anymore." Even though our crews are still staying there?

I was there in August on my own dime. I talked to a lady in the "front office" You have to by pass the front desk and reservations. When you call the hotel ask to speak to someone in the front office that deals with the airline crews.
Long story short I tried Priceline, Orbitz, et al and could not find a room in town for under $200 plus fees. I had called the hotel and been told the same thing about no discounts as you were when I talked to Reservations. I called back and talke to the front desk and they said it was the front office that dealt with that.
Let me know what you find out I want to head back out in November with the wife.
PS I was the one who sent in the info to Crew Guide so as of August it was good.

Figured this was as good a place as any to post it, but the following link is from flyertalk.com where many of our most valuable and loyal Medallion pax hang out to chat, debate, complain, and praise all things DL. This thread is about a few multi-million milers/DL Plats who were invited to be gate agents in ATL for a few hours. As a long ago Gold Medallion, I used to know a few of them on-line. Their commentary is about what gate agents face on a daily basis is pretty neat.

I must say that the north pilots are like kids in a candy store with the new sick policy, Just call in sick when you don't want to work and you never need a doctor note. Not like the notes you needed before after the first call. Don't like the new commute policy, that is ok just call in sick at the last minute. I wonder how long it will last before we lose it.

Reason I ask, I'm taking my girlfriend to the New York Metropolitan Opera, opening show of Boris Gudonov. Would've preferred staying at the above mentioned hotel. (Name left out for security reasons.) But, as mentioned, every time I've called, I've "hit a brick wall" with whomever I talked to.

Everything is hearsay, per say but this isn't from cockpit talk if that is what you are getting at. I bet money our "policy" is on the block to change due to the abuse.
