Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

One more thing. They have tried on 5 different occasions to close a deal with the Chinese. Every time we think we have a deal the Chinese change the deal. It is rumored we are very close again to a deal but so far we are 0 for 5. Lets hope this time it goes through. The numbers if we do the ninety deal are rumored to be a minimum of 20 airframes and up to 40. The initial purchase may be a smaller number but there will be a follow on buy. Delta wants a minimum fleet of 36 if they do this.
China Southern has 13 MD-90's
China Eastern has 9 MD-90's
I'm not sure where the "3 from Boeing Finance" the ACL talks about are coming from.
DAL has 16 + CEA 13 + CSA 9= 32 + ??? 3 = 35 Total in the fleet. Getting the others from around the world would be interesting.....the 25 at Saudi Arabian have MD-11/717 style overhead panels so they would be pretty much unusable for DAL.....

It's on the ALPA site under the JCBA attachements. Basically it says that if Delta furloughs pilots then furloughed pilots are entitled to vacancies at the DCI carriers if they get ADDITIONAL jets larger than 51 seats after we furlough. If it is a wholly owned carrier we get 100% of the Captain and FO vacancies. If it is not a wholly owned carrier, but leases jets from Delta, then we get 50% of the Captain and FO vacancies. So we would have the flowback to Compass, all the slots at Comair and Mesaba, 50% of the slots at ASA, SkyWest, Shuttle America, Pinnacle, and Mesa. This LOA was signed by NWA and only applied to Pinnacle and Mesaba when signed. It was incorporated into the JCBA with no changes so the way it reads, it now applies to all affiliate carriers of Delta. I guess the RJDC has a deal with ALPA national and they are saying it doesn't apply to Comair and ASA.

My understanding is DAL pays for the training cost of a furloughee, so my guess would be DAL would move the airplanes from Mesaba to ASA.

So if we fly the 88/90 in ATL, does this mean you could start seeing some ATL trips that make it west of the mississippi and all the way to the mythical California via SLC?

No, its mythical. You can't come out here. Stay where you are. We 800 guys need some routes to fly.

Even if we get all the China Eastern and China Southern birds, I doubt you will see any 90 flying in ATL. It would cost too much to get everyone qualified for the small amount of flying they would see.

I am going to the 88 from the ER. I have looked in all the manuals and need some questions answered. Where do they put the crew rest seat in the 88? Where are the TVs with all the movies? What is the menu like on the domestic side? Forgot to Bid...do you know?
