Bill it means nothing of the sort. Either way someone more senior to you is going to the left seat of something. If you are one of the pilots that is right below one of these guys, well they have the seniority to do this.

If you did the cost benefit analysis of being a senior ER FO or a junior M88/DC9A you would realize that many are making the better financial and personal choice by staying senior on the right seat.

Seniority is everything.
I know that when I am in that position, I will not willingly give up Christmas and the other holidays to be junior in the left seat just to make at best a few thousand dollars more a year. Seniority allows that choice.
Juniority sucks but there are ways to have a QOL no matter what you seat or seniority is.

Easily. It is MUCH easier to watch the ebb and flow of people into and out of positions when it's done on a monthly basis, versus only 2-3 times a year.

As TOGA said, you could also sharpshoot your position, which in my mind was one of the BEST things about the APA system....you KNEW exactly when you would be in your new position. Don't want to go to training in the summer or over the holidays? No problemo, pull your bid for a couple of months...no worries, because they run every month!

This "we'll award you this, but then we have up to a year to put you there, and training will happen whenever" is nuts. I can't believe anyone would actually agree to that.

****** Limo service sucks! They are never on time for the ********* (downtown) layover.

Anyway, now that I'm out $35 of MY OWN money, what is the procedure for getting reimbursement?

Yeah, yeah ... I know ... "It's on Deltanet!"

But WHERE??

Thanks!
Log onto Deltanet, then log onto iCrew. Then on the top menu bar, select "Pay/Hours", and from the sub menu select "Expense". It should display all your current month's rotation (You can also change to previous months if you need to). Then click "Add/Update Rotation Expense".

Enter Remarks to explain the incident, and then just enter the cab fare, tips associated, and anything you want to be reimbursed for that rotation. After you submit it, i'd xeroxed a copy of the cab receipt and ask your CP office gals to fax it over, they should know how to take care of the rest.
Should get your money back by the next paycheck.

Hope it helped.

For every PFO someone else is flying a Capt position that he may or maynot be able to hold. It takes all kinds.

Default Question

Today out of base white slip given 5 hours prior to report. Res coverage in the blue and lots of short call folks. Doesn't out of base WS come after in base res? This is the stuff I would like to have more transparency on. Maybe just to keep someone under the res gaur.

no just download the PWA, Ch. 23. the logic flow is all in there.

out of base w/s's come before reserves once you are inside the 12hr assignment window.

Out of base w/s comes after reserve outside of the 12 hr window.

I thought the same thing, and I saw a very nice 30 hr trip given to an Out of Base White in front of me.

If you have questions about this, send the trip and the question to the scheduling committee. I do.
