Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

Just told them I wanted the paper version. I never seem to read anything that is a pdf file so I'm glad they will be getting us the old file type to read.

No read the JPWA. It now includes all of the FNWA folks that were hired to Sept of 2001. In essence it means that a lot of new hires are slotted in with these guys meaning that after SOC they would need to furlough FNWA guys to get to a bunch of FDAL guys. I think there are about 400 on the bottom of the list that do not have a 2001 or earlier hire below them.
That means that unless you are on the bottom the scope seat trigger will in theory protect you a little more after SOC.
Now our union could vote that away, but from what I am hearing that is not in their plans at all.

We have 12416 pilots so thats 478 pilots from the bottom to that number.

I think his point is that furloughs pre-soc is much worse for the DAL side because it gives DAL the ability to furlough more pilots before hitting the pre-911 hires. Post SOC the company can only furlough half as many as pre-soc before hitting the mark. Hopefully its a non-issue though.

I'm glad someone is positive about the economy. But, we just had more jobless claims this past month than ever before in history (since they started tracking these statistics). The impact of those jobs being lossed won't be felt for a while. We can't even think about a recovery until the number of jobless rates slows, if not reverses.
We've had 20+ years of spending and no saving or paying off debt in this country and its time to pay the bill. I hope I'm wrong, but I think it will e 5-10 years before we get back on our feet.

Also at the meeting this week of the Managers for the entire system they stated the new target date was a year from now.
You, are correct that there have been some issues. Last time I talked to anyone about it, it was early Jan. It appears that SOC has slipped, due to IT issues. What a surprise here at DAL.
