Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

At our Instructor meeting last week, they said ACS was tired getting all the blame for the delayed D0. So... They came up with this plan. Flt Ops tried to explain the problems, but were overruled. The sentiment with the executives was that we (pilots) weren't doing anything at all during the push back other than just along for the ride. Ken Speir got shot down trying to explain, so Flt Ops is just going to let the congestion and delays happen--ACS idea--ACS problem.
D0?? Is that still even being tracked by anybody? In the April LCA meeting, I could have sworn I heard RA say something about not worrying too much about DEPARTURE time, and giving the captain and dispatcher more flexibility to go faster or slower to massage the ARRIVAL time... which as we all know is the only time that anybody really gives a hoot about anyway...
Or maybe I was lost in space again...
And FWIW.. I couldn't care less what ACS thinks about what we do... however if D0 still does in fact exist, I don't see the tension going away anytime soon... too bad.

Perhaps if we focused on what's important, rather than on a meaningless metric, we might be a more profitable company.
BTW, speaking of meaningless metrics, I was once again in the back of a steaming hot MD-88 15 minutes before pushback because the crew refused to start the APU. We had external air, but it was pathetic. I finally asked (fairly firmly, as she didn't want to) the F/A in the back to call up to the cockpit to start the APU. They did, but it shouldn't be this tough. I flew that plane for 5 years and the bottom line is, start the APU as soon as people start boarding, or its gonna get hot. Period.

College football is here at last.
The Trojan cheerleaders were in Hawaii.

I don't see it being huge. Although, if one crew planner farts it becomes a 30 page award with the size airline we are now.
Progress update on 80's model railroad... came up with an initial track layout tonight:
I've got some nice bridges on there for you to really wreck those trains, ftb.
Mrs. 80 was tickled at the idea of a tunnel. I swear we're all 10 years old inside.

Hey 80... there is a captain on the -ER in NY that has a phenominal layout. He built an outbuilding outside his house and has it there. Truly awesome layout.

I agree, it needs to be on whenever pax are on board!

There are a number captains that REFUSE to start the APU when external air is hooked up. Doesn't matter that the FO, FA's and pax are hot, the stingy B@$t@rds act like it's their money they're spending by running the APU. Nevermind that we're making 142 pax really upset?
