Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
FWIW, a lie flat seat can command a lot more money that a BE. In fact check out carriers that have em. Most tickets are in the 10-15K range.
The real high ups are way unhappy with our on time and numbers before push is one of the major causes. You gotta play the game when it comes to the DOT and rankings. It does matter. We never really had any issues getting the numbers on the fly at fNWA although we weren't dealing with AWABS and WDR stuff.
Stopping a taxi and setting the brakes? Really? In NY, LA, ORD or ATL? Yeah, that'll work. NOT a good idea.
Well in reality, we start engines on taxi which as the FO eyes in so doing numbers with a brake set is not a reach. CAPT may have to input numbers as the FO is starting the engine, but it should work.
I say do not sweat it.

I agree. I don't mind pushing without the numbers. Do it often and, of course, there's always runway changes, etc, where we're rolling and working the FMS magic like Liberace on an organ (well, maybe not an organ ).

It also means time management and discretion. Many of these money lines give us ample time.

CAL has the lie flat pods in most of their 777s and many of their 76/75s. The difference between the lie flats and their old BF seats (which are still nicer than DLs BE seat, IMO) is night and day. They are very sweet.
This new WDR procedure is going to increase our fuel burns, too. A lot of crews are just going to start two engines to keep the taxi workload down. Also, we're going to be stopped with engine(s) running while inputting WDR data and running checklists instead of doing it at the gate with everything shutdown. In my opinion, this is just plain stupid. Our previous procedures weren't broke, so why "fix" them?
Also, on the -88, I can count on one hand the amount of departures we've delayed because the numbers weren't ready. I don't see where the problem is.

Exactly... I don't mind us doing them on the fly one bit... we do it all the time when we get a runway change. However, this procedure is absolutely retarded. Stopping and setting the brakes? Come on! They can do better than that for the paychecks that they get.
I am going to sweat it. I don't like stupid procedures.
