Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
The 88 does have VNAV.
There are some who want to use it 100% of the time and know how to make that work, most others who see that as an unnecessary distraction where priorities get out of line and they don't like seeing it shoehorned into something its not. So there is a philosophical issue with VNAV on the 88 in the descent profiles. Makes for something to tease the airplane about.
Honestly, it does complicated stuff better than it does simple stuff and as long as you remember that its not reading your mind and you actually have to tell it do something and read off the screen that its doing it, AND that NEED DRAG is not a failure on its part, then its fine.
As a lowly FO, I am bilingual, I'll do it whatever way you want it done but I do like to use it except I prefer VS when I'm doing minor altitude changes with no restrictions. I go in and out of both in one leg.
80? Do ftb and I really look that much alike?
The 88 has VNAV, but it may or may not decide it's worth making the crossing restriction when you want it to. Sometimes the hamster falls off the wheel or simply trips and just starts spinning round and round with it.
It's thte least they could do to keep the airplane as manly as possible when they had to give up the ghost and put some glass in there.
"FINE. We'll put the glass in there, but it may or may not do your bidding. You'll find out. And by the way, it talks to you in a robotic female voice, too. Go ahead and try not to get turned on, we dare ya."
stabilizer motion.

Yes. But, for your TV show I think we should make sure you guys look as different as possible. It's all about ratings and chicks dig the contrast. 1 Blonde, 1 Brunette. Or, 1 fat, 1 skinny. 1 Carl, 1 Alpha.
Otherwise, people will confuse you like: Sailingfun and Slowplay. Nu Guy and New K, Pinneappleguy and Hawaii50, etc., and people won't remember who said what.

It could work, 80 & FTB:
One handsome and cool, the other just present. An A+ student who studied astrophysics and a perpetual C student who got a marketing degree and hardly works.

Delta Air Lines Inc. (DAL) announced plans to repurchase $300 million of pass-through certificates and notes as "part of its ongoing efforts to reduce the company's debt levels."
A wide host of companies are using improved results and the ability to borrow at near-record-low interest rates to refinance debt, which generally carries higher rates. Delta returned to the black in the latest quarter as it saw a better rate environment amid a broad industry recovery.
Fitch Ratings cited the carrier's high leverage as rationale for its rating being on the verge of highly speculative territory in June, as the ratings agency reduced the likelihood it will downgrade Delta.
The first part of the offer disclosed Wednesday is to repurchase three series of pass-through certificates from Northwest Airlines, which Delta acquired in 2008. There are $340.2 million of those notes outstanding and the offer price for them, including an early tender premium, ranges from 6% below to 5% above face value.
If not all of the $300 million allocated to the buyback is used through repurchasing tendered notes from those three series, holders of a 2007 series of Delta pass-through certificates and 11.75% senior second-lien notes that mature in 2015 will be able to tender through a Dutch auction, under which the holding tendering names the price he is offering to sell at. The auction's ranges for those two series of debt go from 1.3% to 14% above face value; there is $726.7 million outstanding.

Hoser, I saw that too. I like it. That means we are still trying to reduce debt and get the high interest stuff off the books.
Question for you guys who were previously based in MEM, DTW, MSP and SEA and might know the answer. Captain was telling me his FO was doing a walkaround at one of those bases and was back by the baggage loader when he saw a bag fall off and hit the ground. He picked it up and put it back on the loader. Supervisor came out mad, said he was going to pink slip him, or it for 4 hours of pay.
Never heard of this. So if I find the air hose connected but not running or kinked bad, not allowed to touch it?
Just want to clarify, confirm and pass along.

Simple, when a NWA Ramp crew is working your jet do not touch any of the bags or strollers. They get quite upset.
The DAL ramp personnel cannot even tough a bag until they have put in on the ground. Crazy I know.

A ramper who isn't doing his job, i.e. picking up that bag, un-kinking air hose, not getting strollers, etc. gets 4 hours of pay from whatever non-teamster did do...the pay comes from Delta's coffers, not the individual performing the act. Go fetch mom's stroller, and some dude gets $600 for not doing anything.
I've warned my f/o's not to be a nice guy at particular stations.
True dat. It has happened several times this month in DTW. It's called "pay slip", not "pink slip". Pink slipping is something we should be doing. I couldn't believe this when I heard it - verified by ATL CPO...DL legal said not to warn line pilots of this due to the perception of anti-union rhetoric (and an impending lawsuit).

FWIW, I can second that.
