Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
PM me the pilots name. I will contact him and we will get the flight info. The jumpseat pilot will be fired if what you say is true. There was no program such as this so clearly he was operating outside of Delta. All management riders at Delta are required to identify themselves and state exactly why they are riding on the jumpseat. Even a check Airman just catching a ride to work or for personal reasons on the jumpseat must identify himself to the crew as a check airman.
Pilots who were assisting on the transpac spin up used the TOE guide. They took notes on areas where there may be differences between NW and Delta and implimentation. Non jeopardy and notes never attached with a flight or crew. Every pilot doing that program (set up by the 767 program manager a NW pilot) had to identify himself to the crew and why he was there. He was required to show up for the briefing and not just as a jumpseat rider at the gate.
Your story was also posted almost word for word in the Dalpa forum yet no one was ever able to attach a date or crew to the rumor. I really personally find it hard to believe that pilots search other pilots stuff when they go to the bathroom. Been here a long time and have never seen that one!

You and I can enjoy this, USC's golden boy Leinarts performance tonight:
The Arizona Cardinals suddenly have life on offense after switching from starting quarterback Matt Leinart to backup Derek Anderson.
They went three-and-out three times in three drives with Leinart at quarterback.
Anderson came into the game and immediately the Cardinals seemed to have a spark. Anderson moved them right down the field into scoring position, the first time all summer Anderson has clearly outplayed Leinart.
Anderson's accuracy problems surfaced in the red zone, so it's not like he looked like Kurt Warner, but anyone watching the Cardinals' game against the Tennessee Titans would come away thinking Anderson would be the better choice.
The next exhibition game just gained importance for Leinart.
So I wonder, what if he doesn't even make it out of preseason as the starter? Let's see... FAIL

Food for thought.
"Surly demeanor" is what bugs passengers most about flight attendants, confirming any suspicion anyone's ever had about customer service in the airline industry. More than 5,100 readers weighed in on a USA Today survey, with 38 percent saying that attitude was the worst part of dealing with flight attendants.
I am sure the FA's say the same thing about the passengers too!
I Think I Just Threw Up In My Mouth
From the USA Today article, "They are not paid much vs. other professions, must be away from loved ones and aren't compensated for time getting to and from a flight."
THEY AREN'T PROFESSIONALS !!! Now, I'm not bringing the hate on FAs. But this type of thinking is just wrong. In my opinion it devalues real professionals.
Not every job in this world is professional and thus should not command compensation as such.

If you fly the -88, you fly the -9. I heard it's the same thing, except:
1.) No Auto throttles
2.) No Altitude capture
3.) No auto brakes
4.) No glass
5.) No Air conditioning
6.) No CAT III autoland
7.) No Closet
8.) No VNAV
9.) No LNAV
10.) ...........
......... Nevermind. Yes. I will teach you how to fly the DC-9.

Newk- I've attached a picture of the cockpit to facilitate further explaination of the inner workings of the 9:
