I admire your work both here and over at the dalpa site. Truly MUST READ stuff.
If everyone were as aware of our circumstances I'd be far more confident about 2012.

Maybe as the amendable date approaches, you and I will be more successful in raising awareness of the monumental hole that we are in and what its going to take to even get back to ground level.
Awww... thanks, Check!

Actually, it's kind of funny. Until we took such massive and unwarranted cuts, I never considered myself a "radical". I'm sure that anyone who knew me back then would attest to that. I'm just a person who calls it the way I see it. And what management did to this pilot group... using a unique set of cirumstances to take extreme advantage of us just because they could, and continuing it to this day... is just wrong. It's bad ethics and it's bad business. And that's exactly what I think of it. If that makes me a "radical", then so be it.

I do appreciate your comments. And I hope you're right that some of this discussion will raise awareness in our pilot group. I think we definitely suffer from some apathy and defeatist attitudes...

Absolutely.
I think you are right to be worried though.
ACL made a very important observation a few pages ago. A big chunk of the seniority list only has one more contract before retirement. There is going to be temptation to go for cash at the expense of longer term goals. Management could play that card if they choose.

I know you didn't ask me, but I'll just offer that my definition of restoration is not solely based on pay. Scope is an extremely important part of it, IMO. I completely agree with your last sentence.

....high volume vs. other airlines and it is down 6 to 7 %. Some fund manager is dumping it.

johnso,

You know I'm completely on board with SE taxi. But I just thought I should point out that MEM 10-7A page says no SE taxiing in the alleys inside of spots 1 & 3 (the small alleys).

Yup, I haven't been in there in a while and forgot about that. There are also some restrictions going in to gates at LGA, DTW, and other places I can't remember off the top of my head.

Very true, but is an indicator of how we're doing business as a fleet.

Look at the entire sector. It is in the pits.

All of that is listed by fleet in the 10-7 pages.
