Actually, wouldn't it be a 45% raise for around 5,000 pilots? That's how many might be left if scope is lifted to 100 seats.
The rest of the domestic/Canada/Mexico flying would be thrown to DCI to fight over like table scraps. Don't do it, and please tell your friends.
I was talking to a Delta pilot last week and he had absolutely no idea what the C-series is, how many seats it has, or that Republic is the launch customer. When I told him that it will be flying in two years you could almost see the wheels start turning as he did the math. I hope he doesn't represent the majority at Delta when it's time to vote on the next deal.

Guess what? They do not need to know what the C-Series is, they just need to know to vote no on any scope concessions. There are some that will trade anything for more pay. They are boxed in to a corner financially, but I am starting to think that this is the minority. (Less than 15-20% of this group)
As many realize (Even those who do not care about those FLAP positions) that selling the seat segment over 76 seats will negatively effect their careers. I would submit that 75% of the WB Captains I fly with this get that. If they do not, we not have a conversation topic for the next 11 hrs.

In the end pilots are starting to realize that selling scope does not bring any long term pay to the position. Scope gets "redefined", and pay gets taken away in the next industry meltdown. The last cycle proved that; again.

Oh Me, me!
Get the sucker on his back where you can attack the vulnerable area of this mean little creature. Memo to the porcupine, travel in a group so your buds can cover you flank! Moral for the contract (PWA) and pilots: Unity in numbers protects you when you can not protect yourself.
How was that 80?

Thats a pretty valid question. I think it may actually have its roots in the fact that inefficiency means more pilot jobs.
It is just like asking why are there different rules for the pilot to pilot swap board versus open time.
And why are greenslips are pay no credit therefore pickup limit doesnt apply but whiteslips are pay and credit.
I have never understood the whys, just keep trying to learn how to color within the lines.

It isn't that simple. White slips are processed before swaps. If you are swapping for a "next day" trip, that trip has to be offered as a WS first. Next day WS are not run via PCS, but manually. The WS is put on the pilots schedule and contact is attempted. Eventually the pilot will either ack the trip or the trip will go back into the pot. To have the ability to swap in that manner would require a major change to the WS process.
The company actually wanted the swap board to go against max pick up, but the contract only states WS. The union argued that the the swap board and swap with the pot were not WS. Union interpretation won out.

Ron;
That is good for pilots too imo. It allows pilots to help other pilots out that may need to drop a trip. If it went against max pickup, there would be many instances where sick leave would be used in lieu of a drop/ pickup with the pot. It works to the companies advantage as well.
