Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

The pilot group must also decide if the coveted SWA rates are enough.... No I mean that. There rates went up slightly in this short CBA but are amendable again in the end of 2011.
Also, going to this metric you describe takes things like the efficiency of the next get jets out of the equation.

SWA to DAL pay per hour is apples to oranges. Tired of hearing we want their payrate + 1%.
Take their trip rigs, non-pbs bidding, vacation, and trip density(no 3 hour productivity sits) and even if our rates were the same, your W2 at the end of the year would be 40% less. My buddy just had a week of SWA vac that paid 58 hours(touching trips). 3 day trips pay what our 4 days do. etc, etc.
If you want the money they are making you need a lot more than just their payrates + 1%.....just so you know.
Hey Ferd,
Who is "Dave Luca" ?
Flamer, I agree. Reread what I said.
I agree with your statement. Everyone looks at SWA rates and the goal, they should not be.
I have a few buddies there that are sitting deep reserve and still credit over 90 a month and bring home over 11K a month. That is a Jr for a few 100 from the bottom.

He is a financial adviser who did a good job analyzing all the funds that NWA had for their 401K and DC fund. He has now switched gears and has done the same for the Fidelity funds. He makes recommendations on where to put your money based on a conservative model, moderate model or aggressive model.
YMMV, but he has done better for me than I was doing for me (good news) but his twice a month news letter is expensive ($9.95/month).

Thanks Ferd. I was looking for a guy to go to for my stuff. I suck.
Heyas,
You will never see the 717 here, let alone any of the EMBs or C-series.
Management wants to move the bar foward, not back. Having a 100 seater on the property doesn't fit into their negotiating game plan for 2012, thus the haste to have the DC-9-30s depart ASAP.
Note the subtle "the 319 doesn't make money" mantra that they have already floated.

Kudos to them for a cooperative relationship with management and the luck of having a team that doesn't take advantage of that relationship. It makes me happy to see such a culture survive in today's climate. Right on LUV and here's to DAL kicking tail going forward and getting rid of this improved BK contract.
Never thought I'd say it, but with Spirit's new payrates here's another to ALPA for actually towing the line and improving contracts across the field; it's too bad that DAL/NWA had to go first. However, that may play out quite well with openers in 24 months.
