Not new - there has been a "For Sale" sign in the yard for 5 years.

So how'd we make over 500 mil this quarter?

We made ONLY 500 mil by buying two jets with cash, paying 300 million of debt down and paying all pension obligations early.

I know that is not what you asked.

Where in the world did that last sentence come from?

RiddleEagle, your posts are usually pretty level headed, so I wonder why you suddenly decide to throw the Comair pilots under the bus?

If you think hating on Comair will give you credibility on a Delta thread, management has already won.

Several Comair guys have gone to Compass. I hope they didn't act like tools toward you or anyone else there.

Perhaps you can tell us about some Comair pilots you have met that are excited to be getting 190s?

DCI peace out,
Boomer

So where exactly do you find me lacking in "Pride in your professionalism?"
Because I will try real hard to correct my deficiencies.

T,

Wow! You have more faith in management then I do. I have a hard time seeing the bean-counters, who seemingly are always 180 degrees out with fuel hedges, giving us a raise on this issue.

Eventually this will all work itself out. I have no problem if Airbus guys decide to taxi 2 engines. In the last 6 years I have been on the 88/90, 767/757, and the 737 - and in every fleet there are guys, for a plethora of reasons, who taxi with 2 engines. Yes, we should all try to operate efficiently, but lets continue to give our Captains the benefit of doubt as to how to accomplish this. Usually guys have a very good reason for what they are doing, anecdotal evidence on this forum notwithstanding.

Scoop
The pride and professionalism comment was not necessarily aimed at you, but at those that continue this 2 engine taxi for no good reason. I see it all too much.

Tell ya what.. this will be the last I will say about this on this thread. I think my position is perfectly clear about what we need to be doing.. who needs to be doing it.. and why. I will leave it to you to decide if it is worth mentioning to future captains when you are faced with this issue. I know you will do the right thing..

Please don't mix cash and accrual accounting. It will feed the trolls that think corporations can "hide" money.

Slow, I know, Point was we are doing quite well. Still had that type of profit with those types of expenses. That is a good thing. I hope the momentum continues.

Or better yet; bring each and every payrate to the 757/767 payrate. Unless somebody was hired based on what kind of revenue they could produce that is. I was hired based on my flying experience and education, not what kind of revenue I produce. I have also yet to see it in the F.O.M. where it mentions anything about revenue produced by the pilots.

The day our union goal is;

1. Pay increase proportional with years of experience with the company.
2. Size of jet based on bid by seniority.
3. Each pilot can pick one of 30 cities in the US to live in, and the company is responsible to get you where they need you, when they need you there.

Would be a good day in my book. Think its impossible?
