I believe you're correct Buzz. We have a lot of former 73N flying.

88B ATL handed out around 5-7 GS today. They have really bulked up staffing on here so GS are few and far between....I've had an open one in all month and no calls!!
As for 320 GS going out, I would say it is a result of increased utilization and no additional staffing in your seat. Also the higher amount of commuters so GS aren't as relevant for covering open trips.....maybe something positive will come from all this.

I've decided out of good taste not to post a picture of Jones Town, but I found one that was a fake Fox News "Breaking News", and I was going to edit it to say "Delta A320 Pilots..."

Starting to see a lot of 5+ hour sits in ATL. Odd.

I don't do a lot of GSing although 4 or 5 have gone out on the 88 today. But I'm out of town and up to my elbows in playdoh and lincoln logs and as you would assume, loving it.

We should keep this in mind when they close the ramp for lightning, some passengers in the back needed to be reminded its a life and death issue as so much is with aviation and passengers and crews need to be reminded.

Good question. The pilot in question did max out for the month even though they had reserve days left, so I am sure that since they are above the ALV there has to be more in it for them.

That does make GS's hard, but how many commuters does MSP have? I'd drop the GS's there and have them cover DTW trips.

If you GS to the end of the month where PB days cannot be awarded, they are thrown in to you bank. I believe you must use them before the end of the year or they are paid out at daily reserve credit of 3.92 or something per day.

ACL speaks truth.

Payback Day Bank

If there are insufficient days remaining in the bid period, the excess X-days are placed into a Payback Day Bank. These days may be used as follows:

• Reserve coverage permitting, a pilot may drop a rotation of any length using his payback days.
o If the number of payback days in his bank equals or exceeds the length of the rotation, then he will receive pay and credit for the entire rotation.
o If the number of payback days in his bank is less than the length of the rotation, then he will receive pay and credit for the first portion of the rotation that is equal to the number of days in his bank.

• Reserve coverage permitting, a pilot may drop any number of on-call days, to the extent of the number of days in his payback day bank. He will receive pay and credit of 3:53 for each on-call day dropped.

• By mutual agreement with Crew Scheduling, a pilot may have payback days added to the beginning or end of a vacation period in the current vacation year. His vacation bank will be credited 3:00 for each payback day added to his vacation.

• Payback days that are not used by December 31 are converted to supplemental (SUPP) vacation days and applied toward the following year’s vacation. (See Vacation Allotment and Bidding article for more details.)

Buzz,

I just tried this and it worked:

-DELTANET Homepage
-Click on 737
- Far left: click on Training Aids
- Miscellaneous Training Aids: Click on Pre-flight Inspection

It says something about using internet explorer which I did use and it worked.

Excellent, thanks for the reference. You too Johnso29 and ACL, I appreciate it.

Default SWA: MX Delay Now an Act of God

"If there's a God who controls floods and earthquakes, does the deity also have a hand in an airline's mechanical problems?

Apparently so, according to Tucson's most popular airline, which recently added "mechanical difficulties" to the list of acts of God and other events for which the carrier will not be liable if travel is delayed.

Southwest Airlines quietly made the change a few weeks ago, to the puzzlement of some industry analysts.

It appears on page 11 of 32 pages of fine print called a "contract of carriage," which many passengers don't read, but which spells out their recourse in mishaps such as flight interruptions or baggage loss.

Mechanical difficulties - what type is not defined - now appears on a list of events such as wars, riots, storms, earthquakes and other acts of God that are "outside of (Southwest's) control."
