yes. its as difficult as you think to impart wisdom and history into ftbs head, Captains should quit trying.

The whole scene just reminds me of Godfather I & II and The Don, Michale Corleone, Hyman Roth, Sonny, et al, and the whole notion of business v. personal.

The SLI debate a few years ago was just business. If you are still caught up in the arguments of it, so long after it has been decided, means you took and are taking it personal.

Some should learn a lesson from this guy.....

But, what is a "SFA"? (the notation after the guy doing seat support)

Is the Oral "really" one hour long? I need details, fell free to PM them

Well, I can tell you about my last 88 checkride if that helps. The guy sits down to give the oral, kind of a serious dgs/retired fellow, no really funny bone. My Captain was one week from going to 777B, but he was in his grace month and they had him go through, smart guy, studied hard. I studied hard too, I always do but thanks to this forum I can get sidetracked.

So anyways we did the required limitations and memory items first, done, we're looking good, then he pulls out Vol 1 and says "now lets go through the rest of the limitations... all of them..."

SFA= seat filler captain (seat filler A-position).

Also known as FTB is gonna be sitting in the left seat and throwing m&m's at you and pointing out flaws in your every move.

You guys crack me up..............love it.

I can just picture FTB throwing MMs and me catching them in my mouth as I head down that single engine glide slope.

"approaching minimums"
"gulp, toss me another one for the landing"

"what do you mean go around"??

At least he will not be over there eating a stick of beef jerky, saying, Yep, you screwed that one one too."

Did you tell him, "Fine, just so long as they are the ones identified with the #." Otherwise, I'd tell him to stick to the LOD and quit going off reservation.
