We used to relish that we LAX guys NEVER transited Mecca. Not so much anymore. Plus, we have to transit other places. But I have to say... I like MSP. DTW sucks, only because the ground guys are the worst I've ever seen (and that includes JFK). I like the ops at MEM. I do miss my usual stomping grounds (that we've given away to Alaska), Cancun, PVR, Mexico City, etc. All in all, its cool. I think we're all learning our new system. When I de-iced in MSP awhile back I was frikking amazed. What a system! Sure beats the Hell out of our stuff at CVG, LGA and ATL. Well done!

fwiw, for the past 2 years or so on the M90, most we did from SLC, and now MSP is all one leg out of home base, and do nothing but ATL turns, and go home on last leg. West coast flying was senior back then, and so is now. Somehow i have a feeling the ATL guys get all the 27 hours SAN layo

Buzz, are you still LAX73n? when i was there, we took pride as the only category who rarely had to use ATL plates. I guess times changed, huh? All those 27 hr. layo at PVR, CUN, SJU, MEX, GDL sure will be missed!

Probably just a few of the top ATL guys, there is almost 500 pilots per seat on this thing down here and we ain't getting smaller... or more senior. From the looks of the August bidding it appears my 88 bad mouthing was a big fail.

Plus, I know your 7er so is it domestic or international? If it's domestic it is probably because of rest required. If it's international I have no freaking clue.
It was an ABV trip with a 72 hour layover. I still have no idea why I didn't get it.

Denny, the guy who got it (good friend of mine) did not put a slip in for it and didn't really want the trip. Reading the PWA I can't see the schedulers logic regarding this. I'm sitting short call the following day, the trip is the following day, I YS it with one day into my off day. I did not get it but the guy who didn't slip it and was on long call got it. I'm just trying to understand the PWA but right now it doesn't make sense to me. Maybe it's me, maybe it's the schedulers....

That is how they are getting the 777 that does SYD out to LAX now.

Default Halleluiah

I NEVER thought I'd live to see the day a fNWA Capt did the walk around. But HALLELUIAH it has happened! (Insert Redd Fox on Sanford and Son holding his chest saying, "It's the big one!") I flew with a fNWA Capt that did the walk around for every leg I was the PF. He did make me promise not to tell anyone who he was.

I had a FNWA CA do the walkarounds on my legs but he wouldn't get the PDC on his. Go figure.
