Sorry, I meant that the charter I flew into SWA I think was an Evergreen bird. Landed at night, went through customs with the imams digging through our bags to make sure we didn't have booze or Sports Illustrated, and then woke up the next morning to the fabulous landscape of Al's Garage.
Actually, I think the only time I rode in a Lizard was back in AFROTC. A bunch of times on tankers, once each on a Herc and FRED.

And, obviously Karnak, not for you.
Let me see, did I see you in Grenada? Nope. In Desert Storm I? Nope. In Somalia? Nope. In Rwanda? Nope. In Bosnia? Nope. Where exactly was I a target of yours? While you were chillin' on your couch? Nope. I'll compare my combat experience with your's any day dude! And I couldn't shoot back.![Big Grin](https://www.airlinepilotforums.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Oh man,
Please tell me this is NOT going to degenerate into a "heavies" versus "fighters" pillow fight.
Bottom Line: Fighter Guys get all the chicks in the bars. Sadly, all those chicks have the clap.
My hat is off to all the "heavy" drivers. Tanker guys always drink free with me (They've saved my bacon more than once). The Eagle drivers, on the other hand, I will introduce to the hottest chick in the bar...who has the clap.![Big Grin](https://www.airlinepilotforums.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Yes, my own side, which is safe, so FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT! Thankfully this is a lot more fun than most arguments around here.

Thanks for all the DTW hotel info guys. I didn't need it though because on my leg 1 of 2, the jumpseat was broken. So, it was 4hrs in the "not so quiet room" in DTW. Nice base though.
This is what I found out on my recent adventure:
1) 2 leg commutes suck
2) DTW is just way too far away
3) US Airways does not overbook as much as us.
I used US to get home and they were great! I even got breakfast and it was much better quality than DL. As a matter of fact, the overall product was, IMHO, better than DL. The 320 is soooo much better than the 737 or 757 for PAX comfort. FAs were friendly and professional. DL needs to ride on some of these other carriers and take very careful notes. But, then again, all of our flights are full and US were not. So I guess what I value in a product is not what the travelling public does.
That my friends is why I just drive the airplane.
Thanks again and happy bidding!

I use USAir to commute some times as well...same experience. Almost always first class, and very helpful.
I "commuted" home from Desert Storm in the back of a 141 with nothing but a flight suit. I thought I was going to freeze to death.

Guys,
We're considering helping with a medical mission trip to Guatemala in Sept with a group of 8-10. Anyone know if there is reduced fare travel for something like that? I could give them all my buddy passes for standby I guess, but I think Fly Confirmed for Less is only for your passriders. Thanks!
