I dunno. I bumped a guy out of my next seat to the MD88, I was thinking of calling him and seeing if he wanted to stay in position, if so, we could swap with no one else being effected.

I know they let you swap trips ....

I figure I'm going to lose 5 seats and my base before the retrenchment/displacements and the FNWA guys get to spend some of that seniority that is burning a hole in their pockets. Might as well make friends with the Douglas now. It will make the transition to the DC9 that much easier when it comes.

Which "burning hole" are you referring to. I lost 1100 numbers!

I don't know if that's really a true statement. The DC-9 is vastly different from the M88, at least in the Navy anyway. I would probably want to come from something COMPLETELY different...like a Boeing!

Autopilot yes, mechanical systems virtually identical. If FMS equipped a bit more on the Nav. It says DC9-88 on the aircraft certificate.

No you did not. You have more bidding power now than you had before. Maybe you do not wish to use that bidding power now, but it is yours and you can use it when it suits you.

I "lost" 4,700 numbers, but try not to look at it that way.

Can you clarify how you "lost" 1,100 numbers? I would imagine that you are within a percent or two of your original seniority percentage. Meaning if you were 50% on the NWA premerger list then you are pretty close to 50% on the post merger list. And you now have more widebody potential than premerger. So where did you lose those numbers?

Uh, oh. Here we go again. Let's not, shall we?
