Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Two words. Hedonism III
Buzz, are you saying North guys didn't take a pay cut with the "new contract"? I am making $50 less a hr comparing the old NWA contract and the "new contract". Work rules are considerably worse, our frozen pension leaves alot of guys expecting less than if the PBGC took over our plan. I don't know what you were inplying, but former North pilots are not in awe with the "new contract" pay rates and rules.
Get used to it. I have been on this forum for quite a while now and even with posting my 09 w-2 which was less than the 08 w-2 for the same number of hours worked, they still think that we got a huge pay raise. Not worth wasting time on here any more on this issue unless you like to beat your head against a brick wall. Suggest wearing a helmet you will need it. On to bigger issues like the current scope delima.
Check, $67/person was for the expensive side of Riu or the middle grade part? I did the middle for a week. The buffet was good, the water was great, the kayaking around that half sunken ship was a blast, the employees and beach sales guys were good, but I could've done without the plethora of old near naked men, topless european AARP women, and naked kids.
Yes, the topless part does have its downside. In the mix are the 60 year old "babes" and German dudes wearing thongs. Ewww... What are those guys thinking?

Riu Palace or Riu Palace Macao in Punta Cana.
Book through perx.com
Five star place on sale right now for $67 per person per night.
Spectacular beach and pools and watersports, etc. Superb dining. Top shelf liquor.
Free sailing (wife and I sailed every day)
Lots of Europeans there. The beaches are "top optional". Lots of topless Eurobabes. (and one American )
Only one downside. NOT much "night life" in Punta Cana. If you are looking to disco dance til 4 AM, Jamaica or Mexico are better. They do have a casino though. I played a lot of hold 'em while we were there.

Not worried about 0 night life. The wife & I are usually out by midnight, & thats without booze!
Buzz, as a northie, I see this particular situation as the final answer on scope issues for the future. Yes, I want scope. But if this issue which is in the contract in black and white is not enforced or leveraged to the full extent possible to get the most for the pilot group, then all scope is not worth the paper it is written on and I would be for NOT negotiating any scope in the future at a cost to the pilot group. If they get away with this, then Catie bar the door. This is a test gentlemen and the company is watching. I am watching the union!!!!!!! They better have their Ps & Qs together.
