ACL,

We were not allowed to vote, because we were on probation. Hence the shoved down our throat comment.

So who are you blaming for this? All D-ALPA, the N reps, the N negotiators that came up with this, S Reps, S negotiators?

I beleive that a few ppl have stated who did this part of the deal, but there was never a reason as to why?

To save space, read one of my posts a few back where I suggest telling your status reps to make the DC match and or longevity bumps an item they want as a gimmie on a LOA. It may not float, but you can voice your opinion.

Buzz, you would fit right in with all of the former service men and women that work with in the Association's organization.

The point of my original post was not to assign blame. I really didn't think this would cause such a stink, but clearly I was wrong.

If I had to assign blame it'd go to the dysfunction that was the NWA MEC. Bottom line is I was along for the ride, as my opinion meant nothing and I did not have voting power. Like I said, this is NOT a N vs. S issue. This is not to cause divide. I can even live with the disparity in DC UNTIL we hire. Once a newhire comes in and makes more in DC, that's when my heartburn begins. I've written my reps & taken my survey. I just wonder if anyone will listen.

Sorry for the angst I've caused. I never intended to be divisive, only to inform. So few of us are effected by it I don't know if many know about it.

Johnso, A lot of ppl know about it. The rationale for some may be different than yours, but I totally get where you are coming from.

4% DC for 200 pilots is not much, and maybe it will get solved. If it does not, the last thing I want is for your guys to rehash this for the rest of all of our careers. I know a great many in that group, and sympathize with you.

As I have suggested keep writing and keep the heat on.

Survey Comments.

Keenster is not seniority 45xx, it was not his response on the ALPA survey, he said it was emailed to him, presumably by the pilot that did the survey. Sailing is responding as though it was keensters complaint, it's not. For buzz's benefit, it's not mine either, I don't fly the 747.

Procedures.

I'm sure someone will correct this, but I believe Delta used to use procedures and manuals a lot more similar to fNW until the lawyers did their bullshi* thing and recommended the move to Boeing standard. I seem to recall DAL either buying or at least thinking of buying SOPA, SMAC and other stuff from fNW after the Dallas 727 accident? Maybe I'm remembering incorrectly.

I have been hearing RUMORS that split checklists will be going away soon. After the 87 DTW accident fNW spent megabucks and hired a firm to analyze what changes would make things safer and possibly prevent a repeat incident.

Top two recommendations out of that study?

No split checklists.

Each pilot should do the exact same thing procedurally on every flight. As few variations as possible. (SOPA/SMAC)

My $.02

Crystal ball prediction. In 2 or 3 years we will be MUCH closer to fNW procedures than we are now.
Hey Nosmo, I agree with everything you said.

This is not something I'll be dragging out for the rest of my career. Defenitely not. I'm still mad at the former NWA MEC, & I'm just hoping that it can be fixed with an LOA since we are hiring now.

However, if it does not get fixed I will live & live happily. I still consider us to be in a very good place. I feel very fortunate to be here. Thanks for your input.
